This comp good enough?

Found this on a local stores website and as i'm in a need of a new comp i was thinking to buy this.

I will try my best to make these in english. :P

Memory (max): 8GB
Videocard: nVidia 8800GT 512MB
Hard Drive (??): 500GB
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750
Memory: 2048MB

Anyways here's the LINK

EDIT:

OK.. my brother has this sort of comp i could get in a much more reasonable price than the one mentioned above.

Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS, 2046 MB RAM, Dual Core Processor 5000+ ~2,6 GHz. He said it runs smoothly about any game. Just need another opinion on that though. :P +it has vista on it though im thinking of sticking to xp anyways.

Good enough for what Exactly?

If your asking about running Crysis on high, your right.

If you mean is that comp good enough for Guild Wars, your double right, GW's is a breeze for that comp.

I got almost exactly the same, but your PC can not handle 4GB+, so I got 2 GB. I think the max 8 is the amount your motherboard can handle (I have the same on my motherboard).

So yeah.. it's a good PC for the moment =P

RE: This comp good enough?

If you'd run Vista on it you can utilize the 8GB of RAM, but thats overkill unless your in the Game/Video Creating branch.

2GB is nice, and 4GB is Great. 8GB falls under the overkill section for the coming year or so cause you won't utilize it all. Unless as mentioned, you do other things besides using it for games.

Yeah I have pretty much the same system running Vista with 4gb of Ramm but my system only shows it as 3gb of ramm.

RE: This comp good enough?

Get a separate 8800GT then, the 8400GS will be a complete bottleneck on your computer then, so if you get that system, get a 8800GT to replace that horrid creation, it'll be an enormous bottleneck.

Besides, cant you try to build your own system? Its really not that hard and saves over 30-40% of the price.
You can't tell me its hard cause then your living in a cave, nowadays all you need is a screwdriver to open the case, put the motherboard, hard drives & power supply in, then both use screws to hold them in place, the rest is all plain easy.
Because installing a Videocard, Audiocard, RAM, CPU and so on is all Click & Play work.

Just saying, depends on your locality though, not every town has a computershop selling standalone parts, so you'd have to order the parts online (still cheaper, especially if you order them all at the same place).

RE: This comp good enough?

In order to use the 8 gigs of ram you would have to run a 64 bit OS. Max 32 can access comfortably is 3 gb. But with tweeks its supposed to be doable.

I keep talking about building a new system every year. My trusty system I built 3 years ago still gets me by just fine. My specs are no doubt outdated but it gets me by fine:

AMD anthlon 64 3000+
1.5 gb ddr 400
ATI 1650 512mb
320 gb sata hd
DVD ext ext

I run the game on high with no lag and get 52 FPS.

Not bad fer a old machine don't think :D

RE: This comp good enough?

Games like Guild Wars perhaps yes, i've also had them on my nearly 3 old year crippled wreck, hell, i even played GW's on a Compaq for crying out loud.

We're talking about MORE then Guild Wars, dont want to bash the game here but its graphics aren't that top notch, Leppis wants Graphics, games like Crysis, Call of Duty 4 and others that use the current best of the best available, a 3 year old machine will be able to play those games yes.

But you'll find more movement in a Painting them on your Screen.

As others mentioned, your videocard is the weak link there. It's an entry level card aimed at system integrator, it's used for 2D and some DVD playing, don't expect much in the 3D department.

It you want good bang for the buck, right now there isn't much that can beat an ATI HD 3850 256MB. Consider getting a slightly more expensive 512 MB version if you wish to crank up the resolution with all the eye candy on in newer games. Also, look for a version of that card with a beefier cooler than the reference one.

The latest ATi card is indeed stronger at some things, but still far from optimal, it may have 2 Cores instead of one, but performance isn't exactly Doubled frankly, Power Consumption Has.
