LF bridge

for some PLing. still hunting for the farming mish, but if anyone has a 46-48, send me something ingame. i wanna test out my new build, what better way to do it that with more than 2 mobs per group. and i was a bridge at that level, so ill pass on the favor. if two people want to, you can rotate as bridge and PLed. i really dont care, or if you are 45 and want some free xp lol

RE: LF bridge

Ok, I have been trying to hold back and not complain on all the PL and farming talk that seems to be the main topics these days. Maybe a year ago many of these topics would have been quenched in the nip earlier. But times are changing, and so is GameAmp former dislike of everything PL too, I guess. I can live with that. But sorry MightSmiter, actively asking for a bridge really goes to far for me. Please, please, please, don't go asking for this here on GameAmp.

RE: LF bridge

im looking for a bridge because i have friends villian side that i would like to see have higher heroes so im not stuck on my shoddy lowbie villian.

but i do see where you are coming from, which i why i included the search for 45+s even if there is no lowbie. i just know those levels were hard for me, the anticipation and anxiety

RE: LF bridge

With the new xp curve, lvling is just tooo easy. I was toying around with a lvl 43 sk'ed to a 50 and I could go through a level in about 2 hours. THAT USED TO TAKE DAYS IT SEEMED. Personally, I don't like how easy its being made these days. I know that I'm just an old vet griping, but I have four hard fought level 50's and that was back when you got almost a bar of debt when you died in your 40's. That was inside and outside for you newer folks by the way. It took so long to get there back in the day and I feel that all that effort is being cheapened these days. Perhaps there should be some sort of early 50 vet badge to commemorate those of us that had to fight for our 50's. Just my 2 inf.

Oh, and on the topic of PL'ing. Don't do it if you don't already have one or two 50's. The mid to high forties are the best content arcs in the game by far and surely the easiest to find teams (at least before the PL days).

RE: LF bridge

I've been playing CoH for 9 months now and my highest toon just got to Level 40. I've been looking forward to these higher level contacts for a while. Not only are the enemies more challenging and cooler but the stories are fascinating, like Lightfoot27 said. I can't wait to do the Nemisis and Preatorian story arcs.

That said, there are some points where I didn't mind going on scanner missions with 8 man teams to get three levels quick so I could get to contacts and villains that were more interesting to me. Because, it really is fun to work on a team that kicks butt.

Everything has its merits. I enjoy soloing because I can go at my own pace and I can take time to enjoy the game content. Pick up groups can be fun, especially when they end up kicking butt because it's so great to say, "hey, we rock!" Or, "Hey, you guys helped me blast through 2 levels, thanks!" But the most fun I've had is playing with 2-3 real life friends since goofing off isn't a problem and it's great to be able to talk to them outside the game about the game and how much fun it is.

PLing isn't my thing, but if you can find somebody here to help you out, best of luck to you.

Actually lightfoot, in the good old days when I started playing (over three years ago) I could get a level every two hours, and I liked it that way. I understand the hard core players who put in 5 or 6 hours a day, six days a week in game would find that too fast, but most players are like me, only get to play now and then for a couple of hours each day. If I can get a level in that time its a good thing, since i may not get to play again that week.

Personally, I was getting tired of Cryptic trying to make the hard core gamers happy. The dwindling player base showed that they don't make up the majority of players, cause they would have been more happy and stayed, not left. The majority of people have to get somewhere in the 2-10 hours a week they get to play or there's not much to play for. I was really thinking about not playing any more for a while there, but the new XP curve has got me back in the game. In the few hours I can play I can get somewhere now. It's a great thing, and the increasing player base (which I'm sure will happen now) will show it. Just my nickels worth.

RE: LF bridge

There have always been PL days and there will always be PL days. Very simple.

Regarding people who don't like power leveling, ignore it. That's all you can really do. Griping about it will do you no good. I used to be very anti-PL, however, I have a couple 50s now and there are certain sections of the game that I simply don't want to do again so if the opportunity to sidekick up for a few levels presents itself, I'll take it.

Gameamp is neither for or against powerleveling. We are, however, against PLing for Pay. So as long as that subject is avoided, it should be all good.

Please don't make this yet another "evils of powerleveling" discussion.

Yeah, I understand. I am by no means a power gamer. I get maybe an hour a day tops. It just seems so easy now, and it felt so much more fulfilling back in the day (a 3 year vet myself). As nice as it is to run up the foodchain, I just miss the glory days. Of course, I'm still one of those people who whines about all the nerfing and actually enjoyed the imbalance between sets (as it works like that in the comics anyway) so my opinions don't always mesh with a majority of others. I remember when a PL used to consist of a fire tank mashing on 30 ninjas in a state of perpetual rewind from all the caltrops. Hehe, now THAT was a superhero.

But whatever brings in more players is fine by me as long as they don't take it too much further. I don't think I could handle it if an average gamer can get a lvl 50 in a month or anything like that.
