I would say Beast Mastery. Its really easy to solo especially when you get a bear or tank-type pet. Put good use to your traps and concussive shot and soloing is extremely easy.

i am survival just to be different, and i don't think that is is the best for soloing, i agree with beast mastery, but either way, solo is easy with a pet. one benefit to survival tree is the wyvern sting which puts the target to sleep. in battlegrounds, i can use wyvern sting, lay a frost trap, wing clip, and concussive shot whoever is running away and keep them close easy.

yeah I know lots of level 70 hunters that can do elite quests by themselves as beast master because their pets can solo. They also offtank heroics if they have a good enough pet. Its kinda sick sometimes if you are a good enough BM hunter.

Also everyone forgot to mention how annoying BM hunters are in bg or arenas >.<

Well, i'm a MM hunter and i love the aimed shot and scatter shot is sometimes useful to run away, ^^
