how to kill an invincible dervish

im no expert at the game but as a monk/mesmer i got a fair idea of the spells i have and how they work.

a mate of mine created a pvp dervish only. and the build he has is pretty much impossible to beat. for starters, i cant use enchantments because his scythe mastery removes them on impact. he has MAJOR health boons when he hits a certain level due to his enchantments and if i remove HIS enchantments he gains a benefit.

any suggestions for a mo/me to combat this? i know enchatments for me arent possible, as well as removing his, so ive relied heavily on domination/illusion to try and reduce his health. the problem is, the health regen he has is way to immense.

probably found the build on the net cos he's only been in the game roughly 2 weeks now.

Well, tough to say without knowing the build, but it's been my experience that a domination mesmer can destroy most dervishes amazingly quickly. Simple skills like Backfire, Empathy, and Diversion can work wonders. You might be careful about Shatter Enchantment, though, as many Derv enchants cause damage when they lose an enchantment.

what type of domination spells would u suggest? i know ive had success to a degree casting Imagined Burden from illusion and then Chaos Storm.

could a monk topple a dervish?

since u said that he has immense health regen, i think he's using Mystic Regen and vital boon

u could try changing your secondary to necro and use
-descecrate enchantments
-defile enchantments
-corrupt enchantment [E]
-SS [E]
-soul barbs

if u stay as a mesmer u could use skills like
-diversion
-revealed enchantment
-inspired enchantment
-conjured illusion/nightmare
-phantom pain

i used some of these skills against one of those dervishes and it takes a few tries and u need luck lol basically just get rid of mystic regen and pound away at him

Spiteful SPirit

That should handle whatever build he has.

You can always try Smiting him back to Hell!
Just something quick ...
1. Signet of Judgement
2. Bane Signet
3. Smite
4. Pensive Guard
5. Scourge Enchantment
6. Scourge Healing
7. Smite Condition/Castigation Signet (if he uses a lot of Condition take Smite Condition)
8. Smiters Boon/ Castigation Signet (if his form is worn out cast SB otherwise see above)

that is a great build. i cant get scourge enchantment yet so i put in Reversal of Damage in its place. would that work till i get scourge enchantment?

insidious parasite and prot bond recharge on prot bond is not so bad. rend enchantments and plague touch... soul barbs umm yeah a necro might be a good idea doesn't always work somehow.

This may be a bit dodgy but:

If you Go as Mo/A

1.Sig of Jugement [E]
2.Bane Sig
3.falling lotus strike/spider strike
4.horns of the ox
5.Expunge Enchantments: Heavy enchant remover but disables non-attack skills for about 10 secs.
6.some kinda regen like Healing breeze
7.condition removal
8.straight heal.

Well there's one skill I just love to take to AB in stead of a res called Gaze of Contempt. If the target is above 50% hp, he loses all his enchantments. It is than pretty easy to kill him as long as you don't use an enchantment based build. Are you only able to play a monk vs him? Cus otherwise you could take something like this:
Warrior/Necromancer:

Attribute Points:
Swordmanship: 10 + 1 + 1
Strength: 8 + 1
Tactics: 2-3 + 1 (all your left over)
Death Magic: 12

1. Sever Artery
2. Gash
3. Silverwing Slash/Galrath slash
4. Final Thrust (ONLY to be used as a "finish off"
5. Virulence {E}
6. Lions Comfort
7. Enraging Charge/For Great Justice
8. Gaze of Contempt

Armor:
Head:
Swordmanship +1 (stacking)
Rune of minor Swordmanship
Received physical damage -3 (insigna)

Chest:
Rune of Superior Vigor
Received physical damage -3 (insigna)

Hands:
Rune of Minor Strength
Received physical damage -3 (insigna)

Legs:
Rune of Minor Tactics
Received physical damage -3 (insigna)

Boots:
Rune of Superior Absorbsion
Received physical damage -3 (insigna)

I chose the -3 dmg because you are fighting a melee combat (ofcourse). I'm not quite sure if the -3 dmg insignas stack up (never really tested it). If it doesn't work I suggest Survivor Insignas on all but one piece.

But serious.. a monk isn't made to kill so that could be a reason you can't kill a dervish. You need something else than a monk lol.

god i hate all the dervish that run around in pvp with 34 enchants that spend 70% of the game keeping enchants up..BOOOORING

Well I dont think ur gonna do this without changing proffesion (2ndary).

Use the ideas from above and change to Mo/W or Mo/N (for gaze of contempt).

Lol I didn't look at the template. Is is a 105hp dervish? Than you can just go touch ranger and own his *ss xD It's really not that hard man ;)

I still don't see how he could remove enchantments with the template code you provided.
However I can recommend some Mo/Me skills.
Signet of Midnight {Mesmer No Attribute Elite} - your opponent must attack to do damage, so while blinded he'll be so much less dangerous and it can be kept up indefinitely.
Scourge Enchantment {Smiting Prayers} - your opponent uses enchantments to heal, now you use his enchantments to do damage.
Spirit Shackles {Inspiration Magic} - Your foe needs energy for all of his skills but SoPL. Now if he tries to kill you he loses the ability to use all of these skills.

Now some more Smiting Prayers (Bane Signet, Holy Strike, Spear of Light)/Domination Magic (Empathy, Backfire) for damage.

Now, because he can't do any damage and can't heal because of these skills. He'll probably stop attacking to regenerate Energy/Health. Your damage skills focus on punishing the enemy and revolve around him attacking. If he does not stop attacking you will win because of the skills I've already recommended. If he does stop attacking because he notices that he doesn't do any damage while he's taking a lot, you'll notice all of the above skills have their functionality halved. To make sure you keep the upper hand after this point you will want some unconditional big damage dealers. I recommend the following:
Wastrel's Worry (Domination Magic) - He takes damage if he doesn't use any skills for 3 seconds. Try to keep Empathy/Backfire on him to damage him if he does use skills. But since you drained all of his energy this will work well before he has regenerated it.
Conjure Phantasm/Phantom Pain (Illusion Magic) - a good combination for the cost of more attribute spread.
Banish (Smiting) - Cheap and easy to use and you already have points in Smiting Prayers.

Try this and let us know if it worked or what elite he used since there is none in the provided template.

Blind makes attacks miss 90% of the time. A Dervish uses a scythe to attack (which will miss with a 90% chance). A Mo/Me (You) casts spells - look at the skills I recommended, they're all spells - These are not affected by blind. Blind doesn't make spells miss if you think that. So the dervish can't deal damage, while you can still successfully use your magic to inflict damage.

It seems to me he is taking advantage to your lack of skills and experience. I think you should not worry about this right now. After a week of pvp and getting new skills it should be fairly obvious how to defeat him.

if a spellcaster is blinded its no big deal as they are still able to cast spells to heal/do thier damage, if a physical attacker is blinded they miss 90% of the time(may be higher not exactly sure) so they will be able to do almost 0 dmg

Try this build

Signet of Midnight
Empathy
Wastrel's Worry
Scourge Enchantment
Spirit Shackles
Mind Wrack
Spear of Light
Bane Signet

Keep him blinded, and empathy...if he stops attacking spam wastrel's worry, scourge enchantment will damage him every time he casts an enchantment, spirit shackles will drain 5 energy from him every time he attacks, mind wrack will damage him at 0 energy, and spear of light and bane signet are just damage spells
