I participated in a rikti invastion in mercy island and i was wonder is the place they attack random at random times or is there a pattern?

Rikti Invasions? Relatively random. It only occurs in 'populated' 'non-hazard zones' hero or vill, but its determined by the Lady Grey Task Force. Its biased towards whoever's leading or has the most on it, more heroes, more likely blueside, more vills, more redside. It only occurs after one ends.
The reason why I say 'non-hazard zone' is I've never witnessed an invasion in Firebase Zulu, Hollows or Perez, or any other zone like that. It seems to only happen where trainers are. Also, never in a PvP zone.
Big Chill is a conscranker: he conrols a mob so they do nothing, scraps a target till they can't stand, and tanks what's left till the job's done.
