Hi, Irecently started playing Guildwars again and I am now a level 18 Warrior/Monk!(/cheer). Well it was really nice to start again and i had no troubles in Maguuma Jungle, but as soon as I entered Crystal Desert I started to get owned real hard. Well now I'm stuck at the place where I need to ascend. I have managed to get to the Thirsty River mission by running past most enemies (since I and my henchies are not strong enough to take down them if they are more than 4). But got owned bad on the second "arena" event and now I cant get any further on any mission.
The last time this happened (The Wilds) I got bored relatively fast and started another game instead, but this time I really wanna finish the campaign, so I would need some help to get stronger and slice those damn desert hydras once and for all!
Here is my build:
Bonetti's Defence(dont really use that much, seems like wasting adrenaline, thinking of changing it to Final Thrust)
Bane Signet (nice to knock down enemies)
Griffon's Sweep (nice to have when power strike is on cooldown)
Power Strike (most used skill)
Sever Artery(really good at bosses imho)
Gash(only uses this on healing mobs)
Galrath Slash(nice non-energy using damage skill)
Restore Life(dont like the cooldown on Ress signet)
My attributes are:
Strenght:11
Swordsmanship:10
Smiting Prayers:7
Tactics:2(lol)
I try to get agroup for the missions, but when im just running around in the wilds i use these Henchies:
Alesia(healer)
Lina(protector)
Little THom(brawler)
Claude(cultist)
Orion(mage)/Rayna(ranger
What am I doing wrong?

First off all what campaings u have??
for the build, use adrenalline skills, a good rez(rebirth, ressurrect) some buffs( watch yourself)

hmm perhaps an interrupt would help you have savage slash perhaps.
maybe an increased attack speed skill like Berserker Stance. now you mention bane sig for knocking down foes are you putting points in smiting? strength and honour might be one to look at. I'm sure allot of keen warriors on the forum will give you good advice to help you on your way I would perhaps swap out some of the attack skills for some what I call strat skills.

well there is a list of warrior skills and some you will find more usefull than others. many of the best skills are available free from quest rewards earlyer in the game. (also quest rewards will help get your leval up).

ok, first off Welcome to gameamp!!
now, get rid of bane signet and the points in smiting. If you really want to go the knockdown path, there are several skills in the hammer group to use(besides, only 1 KD and with a long recharge means you don't use it much). the sever/gash combo is nice if you are facing things that bleed. Final thrust is ok, but takes too long to build up and it will wipe your adrenaline out.
there are 2 skills you should carry:For Great Justice, and Flurry. FGJ will double your adrenaline making your skills recharge and be useful faster. Flurry(or some other IAS skill) means you will be hitting more often.
some useful skills to consider would be Doylak signet for armor and stopping knockdowns, Wild Blow to remove blocking stances.

Hi,
After reading your post and recalling the experiences I have had playing Warrior. I would suggest trying the following:
* Find a good selfheal skill (dont rely on monks healing you *ESPECIALLY* hechies;-) -> yes that means you ALESIA
* Stronger does not mean more dmg. I think you have way too many attack skills equipped. Maybe keep power attack and one or two adrenal attacks.
* If you found it good to use Bane signet for a KD try teaming it with holy stike (at smiting 8 it does 34 + 34=64 armor ignoring holy dmg to kd'd foe)
* This in particular to Thirsty river: Take rez SIGNET! The mission is full of bosses who recharge the skill when killed. It also restores target fully.
* Try putting points in tactics and find a way to AVOID dmg. Or take monk skills to get rid of Hexes or conditions (whicever you see hamperring you atm)
* Use runes (if not already)

I think you just lack the experience. No offence there, but I would know every tactic on those mission =]
Too bad I have to quit right now or I coudl've helped you right away. Tomorow I'll be online again though (I live GTM +1, dunno how much time difference that is) and I could help you if you want. My IGN is in my sig.
And don't give up =D I remember the time when I was stuck in the Wilds haha. And after the Crystal Desert it becomes even harder, so I think you'll like some help from our ampies there.

Edit: removed some stuff
You need the 9 Tactics to get the bonus listed next to it.
In GW Reqs. are not for equiping but for gaining the listed effects next to them.

The build looks a lot better than your previous one, that one should work. Regarding your shield, what it means is that you will not get the armor from the shield if you don't meet the requirement, you will get 8 armor if it's a max shield (16 armor), but don't meet the req.
16 armor shield with 9 Tactics= 16 armor
16 armor shield withouth 9 Tactics= 8 armor
No glitches ^^

If you're running sword based, your standard skills should be this if you just started playing:
-Sever Artery
-Gash
-Galrath Slash
-Final Trust
-Watch Yourself!(Mind to use this before FT if you need to use it)
-Healing Signet
-Resurrection Signet
Yes, that's right! You have 2 optional slots! You can fill them in with:
-An elite of choice(Charge!, Hundred Blades, etc.)
-You can choose to go W/E for a Conjure spell. (Conjure Frost/Conjure Lightning/Conjure Flame) [Only use this when you have the matching sword hilt!]
-An IAS is great, such as Flurry or Frenzy.
-Running skills come out handy, think of Rush and Sprint here.
(If you choose to bring Frenzy, make sure you have a cancel stance to use when you get damaged.)
-"For Great Justice!" A great adrenaline gain skill.
Also! Max armor is quite handy in the desert, because the Hydras can really kick your ass when you don't.
Your attributes should be something like this:
12 Swordmanship
10 Strength
8 Tactics.
If you choose to bring a Conjure spell, drop 1 point in Swordmanship and 1 point in strength, and fill the attribute of your conjure spell of choice.
About runes, I am not a big fan of superior runes, especially on a frontliner who will take most hits anyway. Sup runes just take too much health to be able to survive. So, just try to use minor runes on all parts, and the highest vigor rune you can afford. This should make your job as a warrior much easier.

If you want we can talk about it in-game to see what skills you have etc. That works a lot better in my experience =] Darn.. wish I had no parents for a sec and I could game through the night whaha.

yeah that build of yours looks allot more comfortable with killing in crystal desert.
one other tip might find useful especially if your fighting close up with monsters. Use the flag under your radar to keep the "squishy hench" (monks/casters) back form the fight so they can get on with healing you instead of healing them.
you can position the hench where its tactically important preferable just behind the bubble in the middle of your radar that way the monsters will concentrate on you.
they also do shields that have a req of strength I would advise using one like that.
the crystal desert is one of the areas thats a bit of a wake up call to allot of players because it is hard when you get there later challenges test what you have learned from the behaviour of the creatures there.
one common tactic used to deal with multiple monsters is to try and "lure" some of them away from the group by watching their patrols and using a longbow to fire at them while backing into a safe place to dispatch them in smaller numbers.
