What to do at 50?

Might as well start with a formality, long time reader first time poster. Just wondering my MM is starting to get up in levels, when a MM hits 50 is there much for him to do. it seems to me that a MM is just the most efficent PvE class. PvP is a MM even scary?

RE: What to do at 50?

Hello Krynus, welcome to the forums, and thanks for posting!

For me personally it is all about the journey. Once I reached 50 I was done playing with them. Both on hero and villain side I just saw no reason to continue. But I know I belong to the minority with that attitude. There is still plenty of stuff to do after you reach 50, as others will tell you shortly :)

As for PvP I believe MM's are one of the most deadliest enemies you can encounter. I can't speak from real pvp zone experience, but I played in the arena quite a few times with my brute against my friend's MM (both 50). And although I managed to win a few times overall the MM was doing the most of the killing.

I am the same for the most part.. I may bring them out for a bit but get altitis and go at the lower ones again...

I dont PvP but I would hope a MM is scary in PvP bc of all the free help....Best thing I would think to do it test it out for yourself...

And welcome to the posting side of things. Hope to see more post from ya

RE: What to do at 50?

Hey Krynus,

Unwelcome to the Gameamp.

The beauty about having a lvl 50 is the amount of infamy they can generate in a couple of missions...now, you say 'I'm lvl 50, what does infamy really have to do with me?'...well, it's simple...you have a 50 and roll some alts on the same server...BAM! Instant ATM for your lowbies. Take your 50 out every so often, do some farm teams, missions, SFs or paper missions and generate a cool 500k or 1Mill infamy, and then can transfer that infamy to your lowbies and take some of the enhancing woes off the lower levels :)

You can also help some lower level friends level quickly (if that's their/your thing), you can hang in the 'Big Boy' zones and do some ship raids, LGSF, LRSF...do some of the Ouroboros missions and grab some old badges you missed along your way to 50...

You could PvP. MMs do pretty well from what I hear. Just have to work at honing your PvP skills and controlling your henchmen all at the same time.

There is plenty to do at 50, you just have to be creative and still have the desire to play without leveling anymore.

Trust me MMs are nasty in PVP, specially against melee toons, once you set up theirs not much anyone can do accept Nuke you or TP you away from your pets, besides that you will kill anything that steps up to you (fire blasters might be a problem tho)

Forget SOs exist...except as things to sell for more infamy.

Run the repeatable Rikti War Zone missions and generate massive infamy for IOing out your lowbies.

Advice from a fellow MM

Read my guide here villian side for reasons that io sets beat so's hands down

As a MM there are three io's that are must haves all from the pet sets pet taunt-placate resist, pet def bonus, and pet resist bonus. It makes pet survivability less of an issue.

Bodyguard mode in PvP is your friend.

At lvl 50 you are well aware of your particular pet's str/wkness. Cater to your strengths in pvp and offset your weaknesses.

I am necro/dark so in close is where my pets damage output is greatest. I tend to drop my -acc debuffs, get in close (pets BG mode)and drop fears & air superiority as they refresh. I slotted air superiority with +knockback from kinetic combat set , and between me and my Graveknights most opponents either stand trembling in fear or picking themselves up and dusting themselves off instead of hitting me. I intend to grab TP foe to manage foe movement: drop those Jousters and runners back in a Undead people pile.

Aw (Blushing - and if you ever saw a purple demon blush you know it's heartfelt), TYVM my earlier post was editted with some personal strategy and you beat me to the repost.

Hehehe it shows initiative! I'm sure if ya made it to 50 you earned your kudos already, just hope I can help spread evil in my own small way.

RE: What to do at 50?

I have never been to lvl 50 but I am close to lvl 50, I don't know much about grandeville since my highest is lvl 37 but I know one thing about MM's if you use them right in pvp they are really deadly, basicly MM's are built for stratagy, the only reason they are extremly good in PVE is because NPCs are stupid, they don't formulate plans, they attack with blind idiocy, and they only do what a set program tells them to do. Now In PvP it's diffrent, and if you want to go into recluses victory you have to keep that in mind. Players aren't stupid so you have to try every dirty trick you can think of, and remember the most vulnrible and weakest part of your army is you, so try to protect yourself...
