Probably you need to check your wireless connection and make sure its alright.
Secondly, im clueless what you have running in the background, but turn the following things off which could be causing lag.
- MSN
- Websites
- Downloads
- Anti-Virus/Firewall Software
Thing's like that so far i know can create latency, especially on a wireless connection.

Also i made a new account and on the first training place on factions it loaded good. But when i went into a place where there were heaps of people (non npc's) it started lagging up.

I had this problem for awhile too. Try traveling to a different outpost in between the lag attacks and see it that helps, it seemed to clear up as soon as i zoned somewhere else.

Wireless can be a problem, but shouldn't be that bad. Where is the Wireless hub at compaired to you? And what is your system specs? What Graphics chip/card do you use/have? How much Memory does your system have? There can be all kinds of problems. But since the majorty isn't getting lag. The problem is pretty much on your end.
It could be Firewalls, adware, spyware, etc.

it sounds to me that your internet connection supplier may be having problems.
go to speedtest.net and check your connection speeds with the closest tower to your location.
if it is your connection, you may want to call them and have them check your connection on their end. Or, you could just shop around to another supplier for your internet fix ;)
hope this helps

phone up as a last resort if you have internet problems sure phone your ISP tech support. If there is a fault they can report it if there is a problem with set up they can find it and help you. You might get a gurgling numpty on the end of the phone who doesn't know what they are on about (like me) if you do say I gtg I call back and hang up and try again to get a pro. Every ISP will put new guys on the phones its the only way they turn into experienced people. Anyways the following might help you check things out before you phone up I wrote it mainly for silent so its a bit specific and i have plenty more if this doesn't cover your problem.
Well I suppose I should back up all my boasting with a guide of sorts. People will tend to say “My internet is not working” and not really check to find out why thus it will happen again and again and again. If you have just seen a natural disaster occur outside your window the chance is that it’s the internet is broken. Nuclear wars and apocalyptic floods tend to do this. Otherwise the internet is normally doing just fine your have an “internet connection fault“. Hopefully I can help you locate this and get you back on the internet.
SLOW SPEEDS, INTERMITTENT CONNECTION OR WORSE
If you have a router and the wifi is not working but a linked connection is. Then its simple your router works fine you need to fiddle with your LAN connection. Most of that is on your computer. To find this out click start go to control panel, open network and internet connections and go to network connections (windows XP) or just network connections 2000… or my computer and dial up connections (95, 98, ME ect)… infact if your using 95, 98 or ME please stop reading this and cry in the corner its hard enough without complicating things. Found a list of connections? Good right click wifi search for a available wireless connections.
If you don’t see the network in the list then your antenna is blocked by something, usually a wall or a human walking in front of the antenna watching TV. or cooking a microwave dinner. Or feeding the fish. “Look for water, electrical equipment or metal”. Make sure the antenna is pointing roughly in the direction of the router. If it is sometimes there and sometimes not there you can use a program called “network stumbler” to see your signal strength and angle your antenna for best results try putting your computer or antenna in different parts of the room for best results. If you have a spare 30-40 quid you can usually buy an antenna with a better design than the one that came with your card or router. Directional ones are good but the thing you look for is a high db or high gain antenna. The main thing to do however is to think about the distance between the two antennas…. What’s the plural for antenna I think its antenni? Anyways if you have a good signal to your router but you have a bad ping it could still be things in between the antenna and your machine. Try a speed test (www.speedtest.net). Try from your wireless computer and then try one from a computer that’s got a wired or Ethernet link this one shows the average ping. If the speed tests from your wireless pc is bad and the wired is good read this paragraph again and again and so on.
If they are both bad read on.
NO CONNECTION TO THE ROUTER
Check to see if you can get to your router perhaps its just programs that are being blocked the most common because is your wireless LAN setup or firewalls. If you see the wifi network but can’t connect wep security key may need to be entered if it says its connected then firewalls might be blocking the program you’re trying to use. Try temporarily switching the firewall off or checking the allowed applications. Check the firewall log etc. If you have a program that’s running your wifi card right click it check if it is asking for a WEP key. You can find the WEP or WPA keys by looking on the router with a wired connection… you would have set it up on the router and it would have provided a long code. Well once you have this code put it into the software that handles the wifi card or switch it off. Also see the first paragraph is you can’t see the wifi connection usually identified by the SSID (network name).
Have a look at the router -
Open an internet browser delete what’s in the address bar
Try the following addresses until you see your routers logon screen.
192.168.1.1
192.168.0.1
192.168.2.1
192.168.1.2
192.168.2.2
192.168.1.254
Or a quicker way would be to get the ip address from the routers instructions (or commonly written on the router itself.)
Routers are commonly pretty good at knowing what's wrong with them. Have a look for the status screen this will normally tell you the speed it is synchronizing at or if it’s not connecting might say things like carrier down or authentication failed.
Have a dig around familiarize yourself with the different screens but try not to change anything that you’re not sure about.
The main things you’re looking for are connection status
In here you want to know the DSL or ADSL status
Connection log or security log will normally tell you what’s happened the last time it’s tried to connect. If you have connections problems it will help you find the reason for them. With many routers however it’s better to just check the lights on the front.: -
If you have a flashing ADSL light - hmm your not synchronizing with the local exchange this is commonly caused by extension leads other things plugged into the line but can be caused by the ips either a line fault or a provisioning problem with your ISP.
If it works sometimes and it’s flashing other times then it could be an intermittent problem the cause will still be the same.
What you should try is plugging your router into the main BT socket with nothing else in the phone line see if it is synchronizing.
It’s in the main socket and the light still flashes then you might just have a line fault (or not been paying your internet bills). One sure fire way is to try from your test socket (unscrew the face plate of the main BT socket its behind there to the right) this socket isolates your connection from the rest of the wiring in the house so if the upstairs socket was fitted by the chuckle brothers then it could be slowing and knocking off the connection you have eliminated it from the possible causes.
Internet light - this suggests you’re not logging on could be the most common causes 691 or 721 either you mucked up your username and password. (Check the letter your ISP sent you and put those details in again). Or there is a problem that you’re logged in all ready and trying to log in a second time. Restart the router from the routers settings. Or leave it unplugged from the phone line for 4 hours to give the ISP a change to notice you’re gone. The router would normally tell you in the logs which of the two it might be. (Yes those are dial up network error codes if you’re on ADSL then that’s called “dial up ADSL” even if it doesn’t really dial a number)
*********************************************************
Ok so you connect the router, you are sure you are not blocking, your connecting to your ISP, your internet light is on and your ADSL light is solid. But still no internet.
Check several internet applications just to make sure

Well I'm just going to give one tip (don't know if it has been mentioned before). Make sure that there are not 100 walls between you and the wireless modem/router since this can really scr*w up your connection.
And as other people say (and this is in general), if people need help on a technical problem, they should also add a little more information about their system.
I wish you good luck with your problem, lagg is one of the most frystrating thing when playing an online game imo.

Or armored concrete, like in my apartment. I can only use my laptop's Wireless from certain (inconvenient) area's of my bedroom or have a UTP cable in bed... And it's getting old having to explain why the router is dangling from the ceiling in the stairwell (multi-storied apartment ok)
Oh, and did you know living above Radio amateur adversely affects your wireless connection? As well as badly shielded microwaves and too many neighbours using wireless as well (all those routers trying to figure out whose packets go where).
In short, I'm surprised whenever I see an encrypted VPN tunnel actually work over Wireless...

1)Whats written on the box of your laptop might not necessarily be what you got. You video card might be rated at 256 but in fact be an Nvidia turbocache or similar type card where 64mb are actually on the video card itself and the rest is system shared memory. Find your video card and do some research on it. I found this to be the case with my laptop.
2)Vista for one slows it down so I just dual booted xp and vista and use xp for my game playing. Tremendously increased the playability of the game even with the video card.
3) Suffer the loss of the pretty graphics and change all your settings "in game" to low or off.
4)Upgrade your ram, I went from a Vista laptop with shared memory video card and about 8-12 frames per second and lagtastic game play to playing on XP, low settings, and from 1GB of ram to 4GB of ram...which allow me to stream a constant 30 FPS and do able game play. The ram cost me a little over 50 bucks from an online computer outlet.

You could also give us a lot of information by doing the following:
Click start > run > type dxdiag.
This will open a window with specs of your PC. If you wait a minute till it's done loading (you'll see a bar), there is a button called Save All Data. This will save all your PC specs as a .txt file.
I'm not sure how much it puts in there, so you might not want to upload it on a site, but rather send it to someone than can (and wants) to help you.
If I think of more, I'll post it here =]
