Patch Notes for 3-5-08

Here is what the download is all about.

QUOTE

Version: 16.20080122.10T4
Date: Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

COMBINED NOTES

Task Force/Strike Force and Trial Missions

• The size of spawns in Task Force/Strike Force missions will always be based on the number of players in a Strike Force/Task Force, regardless of whether they are logged on or not.

• Spawns for Task Forces/Strike Forces no longer have a minimum size that they will not scale below.

8 Person Task Force Example,

• 8 players begin an 8 player Task Force and then 7 people LOG OFF. The spawns in the Task Force will still scale to the 8 players attached to the Task Force (regardless of whether they are logged on or not).

• If instead of logging off, 6 of the players QUIT the 8 person Task Force, then the Spawns will scale down to the remaining 2 players on the Task Force.

CITY of HEROES

Powers

Blaster

• Blaster PVP Damage for some attacks was still off after the fix in the previous build. They are now corrected. This includes Explosive Arrow, Havoc Punch, Ice Bolt, and Fireball.

Excellent news that when people actually quit the SF the size of the spawns does go down. That means you can still completele a SF with the true die hards. I am very happy they added that. At first it looked like all PUG SF's were doomed. Good job, devs!

I agree Phe. This is excellent news. This means that if you want to Duo a TF you can and not have to worry about the spawn sizes. Just have to have enough people to start the TF/SF

True...that was one of the reasons I stayed away from SFs. PUG teams never really got past the first mission or so due to folks dropping and the remainder of the tasks were just too much for the remaining members.

I might have to venture into more SFs now :)

i don't like that at all...

prices on BM will be even higher!
won't be as many rare on the market
demand will go up, and the community won't be able to supply the demand...

high prices.... ouch.

Hmm, interesting point. My first thought was that you are completely wrong on it, but than I thought it a bit through and you have a point. Because cheaters can't cheat anymore, they will have less to less, and therefore the prices probably will go up initially. But following that train of thought it would mean that the game/market would be better off if there would be a whole lot of cheats. The more cheats, the lower the prices. Hmm, that can't be right either ...

Thanks for making me think, but I am still glad they stopped a cheat.

Yeah, although it was a "cheat" it did serve a valuable purpose that actually helped the casual law abiding player in the grand scheme of things. Oh well, I guess people just didn't see it that way before. I doesn't really affect me anymore anyways lol, but it's still an interesting concept nonetheless.

However, I could definitely see a new exploit where an Elec/Stoner paired with a kin could tear through any higher level SF all by their lonesome. We'll see what happens though.

^.^
