Newbie Assassin

Hello, I am not really around these forums much, so i thight maybe i should come and meet the community. i recently bought Factions, and i already have nightfall and prophecies. so i was playing my assassin, for whom i chose mesmer as a secondary. i love it! she just slashes em down, then i have i think 3 teleport powers for use in combat, SS (shadow step) to target and heal, away to a random nearby place and heal, or poison all adjacent foes and ss to a nearby place,

after that bit of rambling, here comes my problem. i am doing those advanced training things with the master, i've done that attack chains and shadow defenses, but some of them have me failing and frustrated. the one where i have to strip the guy's enchantments got me killed, and the one where i have to slow that girl and kill her is annoying too. does anyone have any tips for doing the challenges?

To slow that ranger down use Calltrops skill next to her, it cripples.

For the Degen always Carry Shadow Refuge, its really helpfull and a good healing skill during the first levels of an Assassin.

For starter, you're not gonna need thatmuch Shadow Stepping moves.
Death Charge will in most cases be enough. But if you want to have the option to go in and fall back whenver you wish you can always capture Aura of Displacement later in the game.

For the quests, you basicly get every skills required.
Use your attack chain on Brother Pe Wan untill he uses Life Sheath, stop attacking use Expunge Enchantment and continue attack and repeat untill he's dead.

For snaring use the skill Caltrops they've given u and snare Zho and use your Attack chain.

Good beginner attack chain:

1. Unsuspecting Strike
2. Fox Fangs
3. Twisting Fangs
4. Death Charge/Shadow Step
5. Shadow Refuge
6. xxx
7. xxx
8. Rez Signet

6 and 7 you can fill in on your own. Critical Eye is very handy and off course the skills required to complete the quest (Caltrops/Expunge Enchantment)

hey thanks, guys! i finally got it down, finished the challenges. and yeah, one of the things i love about being an assassin is when im dying i use heart of shadow to get out of the fray and heal, then death's charge to get back in the fray and heal some more. im just having trouble fitting all of the things that i want to have in my tray. here's what i would have ideally if i could have 10:

1 - energy tap (OMG sooo helpful)
2 - dancing daggers
3 - fox fangs
4 - repeating strike
5 - death lotus
6 - viper's defense
7 - heart of shadow
8 - death charge
9 - shround of distress
10- rez signet

but alas. if i were to eliminate 2 of these which should they be? (btw, i dont ever use rez so i switch it out sometimes for other things)

I (everybody??!) will flame you if you EVER not bring a rez =P

Energy Tap may be usefull in the beginning but as soon as you have enough Critical Strike you'll have plenty of energy. Also bring a Zealous weapon, with the fast hiterate of daggers this has more pro's then con's.
I also advice specialising in either Dagger Mastery or Deadly Arts.
I would also throw away Death Blossom (Death Lotus?) you can Spam Repeating Strike as much as you want (which is a good combo with Flashing Daggers).

Ok, it turns out i didnt end up completing all of the challenges...that disenchantment one is really freaking annoying. whenever i manage to get the guy's enchantment off, i dont have enough energy to attack him. plus, my stipud little daggers do like one damage apiece. anyone know how i can make this easier?

ok also di i need my assassin insignia? this is the last part of it, but i dont know what i actually get besides 2k xp and some gold.

It's primairy quest, which are needed to evolve the storyline, so yeah =]
Next up is 'how to say I'm sorry, the Assassin way'.

ok wow. its amazing how much difference it made to have jagged strike or whatever, costs 5 less energy to start a chain, and having drain enchantment instead of shatter worked sooo much btter. thanks for your input, guys!! you'll probably be hearing from me again when i am halted by even easier things.

Don't Bother with those quests until you are at least lvl 10.

yeah i ended up going off to do others and came back once i hit 10. but i have another question: i did those, then the ones with that freak in the Aerie, and a side quest somewhere, so now i have no more quests and no one in any of the towns ive been to have any contacts for me. any suggestions?
