Hey,
I made a build for my ranger and i wanted to know what u guys thought of it. Just 1 thing, I Haven't checked pvxwiki or any of those sites so if the build alrdy exists...i did not copy it from someone else.
Build 1
1)Troll unguent: A self heal
2)Poison Tip signet: Use before attacking someone, i use this because Apply takes too much energy
3)Experts Focus: This is to compensate the high energy from Burning arrow and screaming shot
4)Burning arrow: Nice dmg+ Fire
5)Screaming Shot:Ok dmg+the bleeding effect for when the fire runs out
6)Dshot: Must have skill for a ranger
7)Savage shot/Pin Down: Depends on what situation
8)Natural Stride/(Hard) rez: Depends on situation
Attributes with runes are: Marks 14, Expertise 11, WS 11
Weapons: I use a drago's flatbow for very long range. Otherwise i use a recurve bow, mods don't really matter
But poison 33% is useful. I use sundering because it can always be used.
This build relies on heavy conditioning with the bleeding as a cover condition. Counters: Condition remove(you must try and interrupt those) and also an avatar of melandru can give u hard time.
So what do u guys think about it?
Criticism is always welcome, aslong as it is said nicely ;-)

I would skip the flatbow, it just has a too high chance of missing moving foes without Favorable Winds or Read the Wind. The build itself looks nice. It lacks a defense skill if you need a res, though :/

Yes forgot to mention if i take rez then i'll probably take another defensive skill instead of Savage shot.
And i don't use the flatbow a lot, its just when i'm in pve standing on a cliff hitting an enemy miles beneath me.
And in AB it comes in useful for capping ele shrine because they can't hit you

I'd change the order
1-4 attack skills, 5 preperation, 6 stance, 7 heal, 8 res
with less attack skills that slot becomes optional, then I prefer 1-3 attack skils. 4 preperation etc.
second I'd take out savage or distracting. maby take a spirit with you. might be usefull.

Thanks for the advice, I often only use Dshot and swap out savage for something else.

wheather or not its ok is if you are going pve or pvp.
id drop the marks cuz you arnt using your bow for dps, so all you really need to do is hit your req (+1 if your worried about weakness). with the lower marks you can get higher expertise so you wont have to worry as much about energy costs. once you do that it opes up your bar alot more about what skills you are using.

OK, my turn. You are using a terrible preparation. Burning Arrow and Screaming Shot don't really have that high an energy cost when you consider the Ranger's Primary Attribute: Expertise lowers energy costs. Take a cover like Barbed Arrows to cover the burning and have a long lasting effect. You don't really need more than one interrupt so drop Savage Shot. Pin Down....wow, i only use that for Norn Fighting Tourney. You don't need a cripple in a PvE build, and for PvP, levae that for a Cripshot ranger to handle.

If I'd have to change your build, it would be something like this:
1. Burning Arrow
2. Screaming Shot
3. Dshot
4. Apply Poison
5. Natural Stride
6. Mending Touch (or troll unguent in your case)
7. ?? PvE only skill? Or troll unguent?
8. Rebirth
I don't really like posion tip signet because you have to put it up much more often than with apply poison =] If you don't spam skills 1 and 2, your energy should be fine. Remember to put at least 9 att points in expertise!
EDIT: With this build you apply poison, bleeding αnd burning. A huge selfheal like troll isn't really needed if you got a bit of a monk. Mending touch is used to remove blind/deep wound fast so that the monk can concentrate on healing in stead of removing conditions.
And it's happend numerous times that I was the only team member left after a party whipe and than rebirth comes in handy.
