Here's a link to my guide on Fire/Kin builds:
Fire/Kin Builds
As far as lingo goes, you already know what Farming is, so I'll just give you a quick set of definitions:
Farming: One or more characters repeatedly clearing, or nearly clearing, a mission map for XP/Influence/Prestige/Drops. Farms designed solely for a low level character to get alot of XP are considered Power Leveling, or PL, because a low level character can get alot of levels very swiftly at little to no risk to themselves.
Bridging: AKA Mentoring, this is a person who is on the team to SK a lower level character into the range for rewards to be recieved. Optimally, the Bridge will be level 46, though with the right setup a level 44 or 45 could also Bridge. On hastily setup farms, generally a mentor will be a level 49 or 50, lowering the amount of the rewards, but speeding up the farming as the mentor and his/her sk can help with the killing.
Anchor: Anchors enable a distinct situation, uniquely capable of Powerleveling at an extremely fast pace. An anchor is a level 41 character who joins the team, sits on the map, and does not get SKed up. This 41 does not recieve any Influence/Prestige/XP or Salvage/Recipe drops, though they can and will occasionally get Enhancement and Inspiration drops. The Anchor is usually paid a previously aggreed upon price per run for sitting on the map, because they will not naturally get any form of reward for this. Some Power Levelers will have their own Anchor in reserve on another acct, so that they don't have to pay a stranger to anchor for them.
LFF: On Freedom server in Peregrine Island, the Broadcast channel is often spammed with a person saying that they are "LFF." Pretty self-explanatory, this phrase just means "Looking For Farm."
BM: This is a reference to a particular map, namely Battle Maiden. This map is popular on some servers because the map is large, with mobs spreadout and unlikely to overlap and cause multiple mob aggro. The baddies are all Praetorians, minions of Battle Maiden.
Family: Another reference to a particular map, this map is small with tightly packed mobs of Family minions and such. This is my prefered map, because its very quick to farm, though it can get risky, given that its more likely that multiple mobs will aggro at the same time.
Demons: The last commonly farmed map is the same type of map as the Family map, but filled with Behemoths, or Demons. This map is farmed because Behemoths drop arcane salvage, as well as less commonly found Invention Set Recipes. These recipes and bits of salvage are often worth more on the Auction House market than the other types of salvage and recipes found on Battle Maiden and Family Maps. This is also commonly known as a "Money Run," as more money can be made from this map than any other map.
Hope this helps you out some!

Are any of these Maps on villain side or is there some known equivalent? I'm currently 1 bubble from 49 and wanting to get my farming info squared away.
Is there a suggested difficulty setting for max reward vs effort?
You explained what an anchor was, but why does having an anchor benefit a farm?

I just saw this post and was kinda wondering the same thing. What does an anchor do other than take up a small square of space on a mission map?

It basically acts as a filler for that map.
If I recall correctly, more enemies means more drops. Since that anchor receives no important drops it would mean those getting the drops would get a bit more. (unsure if the last part of that is 100% correct)

An anchor is a special kind of filler. Yes, they don't get real drops (though they do get inspirations and some enhancements). But they enable what many consider to be "real" powerleveling.
An anchor is a level 41 character who sits on the map, in the team. Having this anchor on the team, without a mentor, means that level 43 (and up) teammates will get XP. This means that a level 44 or 45 could bridge for the team, instead of the usual 46-50.
This enables xp to be gotten for up to +9 enemies. This is *alot* of xp coming in. I personally have seen a just-turned level 44 get to level 45 in one hour. And this was before the "xp smoothing" that resulted in everyone getting more xp at every level to speed up the process.
So, in farms where levels are highly desired, it is not uncommon to "buy" an anchor, usually at the price of 1 million influence per run, to enable lower level bridges and more xp for everyone.
Hope this helps,
W.P.

The hardest part, however, is learning HOW to get the farming maps. Battle Maiden is just a normal map in the Praetorian arc given out by... that lady in front of Portal Corp.
I've heard that Harvey Malor (sp) gives the Demon Farm and Unai gives the Family Farm, but I'm not sure how to get them, as it's an odd and complicated process and I'm not sure if I can even get them on my main character anymore, as I have the repeatable contact in RWZ
I heard that you can't have any open story arcs on your toon when you pick them up as a contact.
Also the Mask farm (Unai's 1st mish) is good for getting the Banished Pantheon Spirits badge.
