Can certain MM call forth an assassin that can follow you almost anywhere?
I was in Siren last night with my blaster and I attacked an MM who had a bunch of his thugs around himself. I didn't get the quick kill so I a did a couple of super jumps out of the area. When I landed, I noticed one of his thugs right behind me as if he had actually followed me. Then the MM broadcasted that I couldn't escape his assassin. I'm been PvPing for awhile and I don't think I've ever seen this.
I've never played an MM before so I don't know their powerset but I can imagine you can tell a member of your squad to go after a particular hero. However, can you give thugs/robots/etc...SS or SJ or Flight? I've never been followed quite so far and so quickly by a minion.

Thugs have SJ, and they will hunt you down forever.

The super jump yall are thing of is not the same as the movement power for players. The Minion Super Jump is not designed to go foward but up instead. This is so when a MM gets to a higher ledge the minions will follow you up there in a single bound. If a MM sent his minions after you in PVP they would run to you and if you were higher up (say on a building) they would run over to the building and jump up. I wish they had superjump like the power (kinda sucks having your pets get casted to you after every other jump or so--but hey thats life)
Hope that cleared things up

this is true, except I believe that the Jounins get the actualy player SJ. I'm not sure though

Nope, its just an auto SJ that is only used to get up ledges in one hop. If they had a real SJ, MM's would be a big warning sign that said "NERF ME!"

Some factors might be to play here since you did not list more exacts I can only guess.
When I used to PVP with my Mastermind (got boring so gave it up) I had Teleport and used Thugs. If someone tried to get away I would turn on stealth suit (a temp power that you can get rather easily in mayham mishes) and would TP to near the "hero" area. Moving that fast causes your pets to resummon where you are, and so if your fast enough can put you right where you where in battle. So he could ahve been nearby and the reason you saw his pet is that it resummoned near where you stopped.
If a MM is sitting still and not having to fight any of the PVE things, he most likly will have pets on Defenses. meaning that they will not only automaticly attack anyone who attacks the MM, but shares his damage as well. So the reason you did not get a "quick Kill" is he may have had his pets buffed and he shared the damage.
that is without the knowledge of what he may have had slotted for his pets. the new IO for pets make them rather strong.

Henchmen, unlike Pets, will stick to the target the MM has told them to attack, until you call them back, they die, the target is dead, or the target is out of the zone.
When a MM first has sent his Henchies after you, there's no escape. You can let them run through a group of mobs, which I usually do, but you can't outrun or outstealth them.
If a MM goes out of range from his Henchies, which is a few hundred yards, they'll repop at his feet instantly. However, even if you run to the other end of Siren's, they'll still be on your tail, since the MM ordered them to do it.
Furthermore, all MM Henchmen have that Inherent Super Jump which lets them leap incredibly heights. They _can_ leap a short distance too, but they mainly run. And really fast, too. You'll notice if you let your Henchmen Stay a hundred yards away from you, and tell them to Follow you, they'll sprint like there's no tomorrow to get to you as fast as possible
