Been wanting to pick up some new DvD's but not exactly sure what to get. Figured id make this thread and let people post good movies they've seen recently. A few i've seen:
The Illusionist
Zodiac
American Gangster
Cannibal The Musical
i would either buy the illusionist of american gangster. both are very good movies.

yeah the illusionist is a really good movie. Another good one is the benchwarmers if u like stupid comedy, and Mindhunters if u like action/mystery. Not many people have heard of Mindhunters but when I first saw it, i was like holy shit, so many twists and turns and just out right awesome. It has LL Cool J, i think Christian Slater, the main person from Cold Case, and some others I can't think of.

It is and many other movies that doesn't come from america or hasn't been made with around 100mill are good too.. just that those usually don't get the attention with big audiences.
Anchorman (Possibly the best comedy ever created)
Kung Fu Hustle (Another great comedy/action)
300 (Yes its overrated but its an awesome action film)
The Blair Witch (The first one, if you like a nice scare every now and then)
Well a few I bought a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed are:
3 studio Ghibli films: My neighbour Tororo, The return of the cat and Howls moving castle (enjoyed all of themm I've since got the box set with like 14 of them in xD)
Pans labyrinth (really enjoyed that)
Gladiator Special Edition (yes oldschool)
300 (as said before, slightly overrated but still fun)
The Last King of Scotland (Very good English film)
The persuit of happiness (again was very enjoyable)
Kes (old english film)
Donny Darko (awesome)
Children of Men (very good film in my opinion)
V for vendetta (also enjoyed it very much as i had read the graphic novel years ago)
they where all pretty good actualy :)

Otherwise i agree with most of the stated choices. Especially Donnie Darko. From your list, American Gangster is meant to be good. i havent seen it tho.
dunno what your into but the prestige is good and anything by studio ghibli.(spirited away etc.)
you also need a monthly dosage of good horror. i reccomend anyhting japanese or something with eveil animals in.

The prestige, only a few know it, I needed to see it 3 times to understand it. its awsome.
