|
Well, this morning I walked out of my house at around 7am and as usual I was listening to my I-pod. I headed down my street and about half way down I was opposed by lady with a pram, so I stepped onto the road to get out of the way (our pavement is only wide enough for one person) as anybody would. But then as I stepped back onto the pavement I brushed past a peice of plastic hanging off a skip, only to then find out that the metal bar on the edge of the skip was sticking out under the plastic. It crashed into my right leg right where my pocket was, it hurt but I just rubbed it off and carried on.
I then got to college... Took my I-pod out and started to wrap the headphones around it... That's when I noticed it... The fat dent in the bloody back of my I-pod touch. Not only is it massive but to make things worse it's right under the I-pod touches WiFi node, and now the WiFi doesn't work! Luckily other than that it seems to work fine but it's just really annoying as I use the WiFi daily to check my college emails etc. Anyway just tought I'd share that as I'm rather pi**ed off by it xD

Lesson here,
Dont walk off the pavement to let people with parms walk by. it always leads to trouble. Prams have been a burden on society since the invention of the wheel, and i for one am sick of it!

yes, yes goddammit! I once was walking down a pavement with enough space for like 5 people and this lady with a pram walked into the back of my heels and then went tsssk at me! Why the kitten should I get out the way when theres like 5 rows and I had no idea you where even behind me!

argh, i feel your pain, my ipod touch looks like its been in a warzone too.
You should be fine with your warranty, apple gives you a year free with it anyway. I was fine sortin mine out the first couple of times it decided to die.

Buy a cheap cover off ebay put it on it then say the wifi dosent work. lol.
Edit: My friend has broken at least 3 or 4 (2nd gen) ipod nanos. Dang, those screens are so weak...

Last time I sent mine away they said it was no longer under warranty as I had mistreated it D: are you in the UK btw? I've had ship loads of experiance with apple warranties, I've been through 7 I-pods xD but I'll still check if I can claim :)

Unofortunatly they only cover "official" or "endorsed" covers so I'd have to get a more expensive one xD but still yeah xD

Any Mac stores in the UK?
Pretty sure I'd be able to talk the people in our local store into it being normal use (carrying in my pocket is normal imo).
it's a lot easier to be a jerk about warranties through mail or e-mail than it is face to face.

Yeah I am in the UK. Iut took mine to the genius bar at the back of my nearest apple stone and said ''it just stopped working after i synced it one day.....it wasnt me honest'' :P
The wifi not working would surely be a technical fault, and so under appleCare? although as you said you have a lot of explerience here compared to me, this is only me 3rd ipod.

Well I like melted ice cream so ha..... and yes good point I'll go to the apple store, there's quite a few here in London =]
To prince rak, I don't think I can claim on that basis because although it's a tehcnical problem it was caused by a physical accident, goddam warranties! xD
Oh and Chris I didn't realise you ment the entire back shell, that's a good idea actualy I'll try that :)

Go to an Apple store, they should be able to fix it.
