1. What are IO sets?
2. Can toggle skills stack?
3. Are raids in CoH similiar to WoW?
4. What is there to do after you reach the max level?
5. How long does it take to get to 50?
6. How do you get skills? I understand that they become availaible to you after reaching a certain level but on the skills reviews people talk about not getting skills...so it kinda makes it confusing for me. =(
7. Can u describe the current situations of the servers (I dont want one thats over-crowded, or a horrible economy. =)
8. How many sets from the power pools can you get?
And it would be cool if i could try out the game before i spent 30$$ on it... so if anyone can send me a referal. =)

Hok to anwser your questions...
1.) 'Invention orgin' enhancements. They are the ones the you create at the invention tables. Thats my basic understanding of them
2.) Yes. Ussually. You can have all your toggle skills on at one time if you want. (Except with granite armor, I think thats the only one that is lone) But they use alooot of mana - so thats why you ussually dont haha
3.) 'raids' like Kara and stuff? The endgame instances are still regular 8-man teams (which is the reg # for teams in CoX)
4.) I really don't know, never been there. I know you can get badges, get accolades etc. Bassically just supe up your character more and more.
5.) Not long anymore, if you stick with 1 character it really won't take you very long.
6.) Hok so, you have 'access' to all of your powers at a certain level and once you have 'access' you can choose it whenever you want. Which also means you dont HAVE to pick it. it will make more sense when you start playing.
7.) From what I know, Freedom/Virtue (US) are very populated at the moment. All the other servers you should be fine. Triumph is the main server for gameamp heros. And we have a nice gameamp community on pinnacle villains.
8.) You can pick up to 4 different pool power sets. Beleive me, its plenty.
9.) 'Natural' origin ussualy refers to people like Punisher and stuff. Where they really dont have 'super' powers. If they got they're powers at puberty I would consider that mutation, personally.

I'll answer what question I know what you mean.
1: IO sets are enhancements that grant bonuses for having 2 or more of the set.
2: Not sure what you mean here
3: don't know how a raid in WoW works
4: PvP, buy more IO sets, even purple if you manage to afford them, get badges, TFs, RP.
5: depends on what you do to lvl, how long you play etc. If you Power Level (*blargh*) you could do it in a week or so.
6:You see a trainer which lets you select the next power selection from you powers.
7: Freedom is busiest with Virtue in 2nd, rest are usually lower loads at peak times.
8: up to 4 power pools
9: that'd be the deion of a Mutant, but origin only affects what groups you fight for your origin specific enhancments.
10: trial codes will give some time, but no where is it free to play.

thanks, i ended up using the dowload from the site, took me a while to find it =/.
lol yea i didnt mean to play for free just downloaded it for free, i got confused when i clicked on the direct2drive link because it said "buy city of heroes 29.99"...but yea
if im understanding correct, the free downloads don't include CoV?

Actually, I never installed CoV on my computer (just coh) and my computer still runs villains. Haha weird. =D

What are IO sets? Better question: what are IOs? IO stands for Invention Origin Enhancements, when basically means you create these enhancements yourself. Enhancements enhance your powers. There are multiple types of enhancements you can use, but are restriced on your hero's or villain's origin. Here is a starter guide made by one of own members that will help explain some things.
Can toggle skills stack? 99% of them can stack. There are a few select powers that cannot be active at the same time as other powers. And they are powers, not skills, in the CoX universe.
Are raids in CoH similiar to WoW? I've never played WoW, but from what I can understand, the one 'raid' we have isn't anything like a WoW raid. And most people don't do the raid anymore because they don't want to put the time in.
What is there to do after you reach the max level? It all depends on what you really like to do with your characters. Once you reach 50, you can pretty much do whatever you want in the game. There are badges to collect, task forces to run, new characters to make, costume contests to hold, younger heroes to mentor, etc. Hitting max level can either be the death of your character or a rebirth! I hit 50 with my main in August of 06 after roughly 3 months of playtime and still play him regularly and he's not done yet.
How long does it take to get to 50? This all depends on a lot of variables. Do you spend all of your time on a single character or do you spread playtime across a few? Do you fight solo or team a lot? Do you increase your difficulty as you advance in levels or keep it on the lowest setting?
How do you get skills? When you gain enough experience, you go see a 'trainer' in whatever zone you are in, although not all zones have trainers. They will give you a new security card (because levels are technically security levels) and you can either choose a new power or add enhancements slots to existing powers.
Can you describe the current situations of the servers? Freedom is the most populated server, with Virtue close behind. Other than that, they aren't too bad. The economy is tied across all servers and it's booming.
How many sets from the power pools can you get? You can choose 4 additional power pool sets aside from your original two power pools.
