So, what's this then?

Something odd is showing up on the Warhammer EU site.
Notice that big clock ticking down?
It doesn't have something like that on the US site, so presumably it's not a release date announcement timer.

I am curious as to what it actually is.
Guess we'll find out at Wednesday March 26th at 15:00 CET.

Well, both Beta's (US and EU) are (have been) synchronous, and so will the Release Date Announcement (presumably) be. Can't say more about the beta due to my distinctive smiley's making it hard to violate NDA's without getting caught :-)

So, I'm thinking something else. EU press tour / event. Or a Games Workshop extravaganza or some such. Maybe indeed a new chance on EU Beta. Or the Big Gameplay Video they've been working on and mentioning in their Dev diaries. Still, why just the EU site?

Hmm no, that's not it. But the topic title sounding like that. I was already afraid lani had turned into a supposedly cute, but actually extremely annoying puppy.

But to get back to the real question here. I'll tell you later tomorrow. I don't want to spoil the fun just yet.

The ticking clock was infact a count down timer to the event of the pre-order pack being released, YAY! PRE-ORDER NOW! i know i am! collectors edition FTW

However, after closer inspection, it seems pre-ordering will be hassle as it hasnt been officially released to retailers, IT SUCKS!

Pre-orders tend to go through online order stores first.
However, if you're Swedish, there's about 12 store-chains you can pre-order at it seems. Oh and Play.com which has managed to loose my last 8 orders in transit. Not going to order a $80,- limited quantity product through them.

What really sucks is the news about the postponed-till-fall launch

Yup. Play.com is UK based.

Sadly, I don't trust their deliveries anymore.
They've always been very nice resending (and losing) items or giving refunds, but our Trouble Tickets about the chronic loss of items has never been addressed. Not even after we found out that their delivery service will "deliver" by handing the package to anyone entering our 300 apartments building because by some miracle one someone actually gave us the package.

Ah well, I'll not be going for the collector's edition anyway.
I'll get a regular pre-order in the stores and believe me when I say this is one game that the UK will have in stores. :-)

£60 , i think i will give the collectors edition a miss ..

although the art book would be good to have, and i suppose i could make the money back on selling the model, as im not an orky fan.

play.com is based in the Caman Islands, im rpetty sure, hence the free delivery due to lower taxes.

Im EU, ill just go buy it or pre-order in game or sumwhere closer to the release.

They might have their official HQ on the Caymans so they don't pay local UK taxes over their profits (until the collectors catch up with them) for all I know, but their distribution of goods take s place in the UK, so they're subject to im- and export customs to the island.
They keep prices low by making bulk delivery deals with the lowest bidder in each country and accepting a percentage getting lost in transit as a result.

I was planning not to fall for pre-order + beta promises anymore. But it is Monday afternoon and the day is going way too slow. So I wanted to do something to cheer myself up. And what would be a better idea than to get myself some spiffy empty promises. Now just waiting next to my mail box for the next couple of months for the 'garantueed' beta-key.

Darn!
Just realized I might have been able to get the actual pre-order kit enabled CE edition by routing my purchase through you Phe.
As it is I ordered the "regular" Collector's Edition through a different store, as Play.com only sells the P.O.C.E. version to people with a UK residence for their Credit Cards.

All the Scandinavian E-businesses had similar issues.
