So, I just got the game freelancer, I really like it, great single player campaign, but I can't get the online to work. When I go to multiplayer internet games, it gets stuck saying it's trying to connect to the global server (and, yes, xp isn't blocking it and my firewall, aka macafee, isn't blocking it). I was just wondering if anyone else has this game and has ever gotten this problem and got it worked out? And yes, I've sent Microsoft a support ticket. Course, who knows if that'll do any good, lol.

Did some looking around for ya. Microsoft canceled support due to low player numbers. Some one on the GameFAQs forum said you can still find people and conections via Xfire.
Good luck

Honestly I have no clue LOL. Might just wanna try installing Xfire and poke around on the site. Only game I ever played that has online and no longer is supported has it's own TCP/IP connection.
There were 3 clans listed on the Freelancer page, but they were really small.
Not sure but might be something in the Xfire program to help find a connection though.

Yeah, the Multiplayer component to the Freelancer game never really got of the ground. If you like the type of play (but with more conventional controls) Eve might be of interest to you.

Speaking of EVE, I just finished the 14 day trial and really enjoyed it. There is so much depth to the game and it requires a lot of thinking.

yeah, i tried eve out, but im too cheap to pay to play. That, and it really sucks when your ship blows up. I didn't think i would ever get as upset as i did, lol. But that's why i got freelancer, heard it was a good game and saw that it had multiplayer.
I just finished downloading all the stuff i need to start playing online so now it's gona be kind of like playing eve, but with more control and no monthly fee, lol.
