That thread is one (of many) reasons I don't read the official forums. What an unbelievable bunch of cry babies. These new sets are not even on test yet, and yet they claim they know it all already and have canceled their subscrptions. The devs are smart enough to not destroy an entire aspect of the game with the introduction of a few new powersets. I am sure those same cry babies are the first ones to cry one week after I12 is released that their storm corrupters and phychic blasters are not pwnzing all.

not to add fuel to the fire, but i only see one addition that anyone could even consider overpowered. and even then, this one already has existing rivals. energy melee for scrappers. tanks already do immense amounts of dmg with energy transfer, and a scrapper would only do more. as for the rival, Broadsword already hits like a 747, so i dont see much we have to worry about.
also, what is so good about /storm corrupters? i fail to make a connection here, probably because i havent played a storm anything

Im glad our members are not jumping to conclusions much like the people on the Offical Boards.
First of all very few of these Power Set have been confirmed.So speculating how unbalanced the game is going to be is really useless. I don't PvP so the "unbalanced" argument is lost on me. If one side has an unfair advantage over another the Devs will find a way to make it even in some sort of fashion.
I say lets see what they are really giving us before getting worked up.

I added Mace Brutes to the original poster's list. It has been confirmed, though I'm not certain where. I, for one, have always had a soft spot for Mace...unfortunately, until recently, Mace has always had a soft spot on the tip. :)

Ron - Should that not read "I for one have always had a soft spot because of a Mace"? Just kidding.
Power proliferation may cause whiny people who have no grasp of the nuances of the game to "cancel their subions and quit" CoX. I for one say: L8tr G8trs. Less lag for me, means more fun. Typically these people are the same ones who griped and threatened to quit over ED and IOs and everything since I4, and have hung on, adapted and made their "nerfed" characters work as well as, if not better than, their original builds. I love the idea of opening up the floodgates and these new power sets/combos are going to add so much spice to both sides of the game, this is awe inspiring. The permutations are going to be insane! The game does not get worse with each change, it gets better!
Now if only they can figure out shields...I have an awesome concept (old Champions RPG character) I would love to field and it just does not work without a shield.

Two things. first....OMG i cant wait for my psychic/energy blaster. that has been way at the top of my lis of crossover sets for a long time. psy would be one of the sets that could benefit greatly from the boost effects and boost range powers in energy, because its controllery and already has range like nobody's business.
next, i have a question for everyone: what oerset would make a good secondary for a plant controller? im thinking kinetics or maybe sonic, but im not feeling much synergy with any of them. any suggestions?

You nad me both Solar. I CAN NOT WAIT for Psychic/Energy Blasters!! i12 is probably going to be my favorite issue and I was here in like i3 or 4...which everyone one was the one where they released the Hero Epics.
And a tad more on topic, I don't think this spells PvP doom at all. What makes Storm so good? I mean my only lvl 50 is /Storm and I gotta say that it isn't that amazing in PvP so /Storm corruptors shouldn't be too bad at all. And Psychic blast has long animation times and not a lot of true heavy-hitting attacks. So PvPers should be just fine

I think I understand some of the concern. Storm does have some strong debuffs. Give this to a character with stronger offensive powers than either a controller or defender could be a recipe for trouble if done wrong. Similarly with psychic blasters, giving a blaster's offensive bonus to a set of attacks that most characters have no defense or resistance against. Still, I tend to think that the fears are way, way overblown. Then again, I don't PvP anyway.
