I had forgotten how awesome Meat Loaf was. My dad just brought 3 of his Bat Out of Hell albums. All of his songs are power ballads that have a very touching side line. I can't get the power of "I'd Do Anything for Love" out of my mind. If you don't understand the story look it up on YouTube and watch the Beauty and Beast one(the show from a long time ago not the animated movie) I'll explain it if no one understands it

I like the song I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That). Was his first song I heard back in 93. I still have 2 of his CD's.

god... meatloaf was crap...
too cheesy for me. I remember seeing videos of him, where he'd ride some sort of moterbike regardless of what he was doing. even if the man was sitting eating dinner in a resturaunt he'd storm in on a motorbike and steal pasta.
...yeah... meatloaf, what a character :S

I'm a huge Meat Loaf fan. Have most of his albums and couldn't agree more with what OP said. My favorites by him include
I'd lie for you and that's the truth
Modern Girl
Paradise by the dashboard light
Objects in the rearview mirror
Rock and Roll dreams come through
and of course...
Bat of Hell
Well I wish I had a nickel, For every time I fell and blamed somebody else
I'd give a ton of money to the ones I’ve hurt, And I’d still be sittin' pretty well
I've spent years losin' touch of what's right and what's real Caught up in these missions of my own
And you're tellin' me you think I’ve done so damn well While we're sittin' here a thousand miles from home
There's a hole in your wisdom, a hole in your sky
Two holes in your head where the light's supposed to get by

"Paradise by the dashboard light"
To be honest, I'm slightly traumatized by that song.
Definition of an overplugged song.
But he's good at what he does best, which is sing power-ballads.

That is a great album!
Side note, didn't he play the fat guy in Fight Club?
