To ward off GW stagnation, I have taken my mesmer character out of the shed so she can get them some use. I have completed all four champains with her, but I am still having problems affectively running her and would like some advice. The problems I am encountering are, when I run a build I made for anti-caster I tend to fail >50% at actually stopping in the spells, when I go for anti-melee it seems like I really am not affecting the battle at all, and then there is the fact I spend more time on my back than a $3 hooker, or standing around out of energy. I have unlocked all the skills, but what I need is a good to decent pve mesmer build or builds with useage exsplainations. Remember, I am an old guy so I have to have non-monks things exsplained out to me, for some reason I took to monking like a duck to water but that is a different issue.
Thank You
Michael

just curious, didn't you find anything you liked out of the 37 guides found when searching keyword 'mesmer' here?

Well, it's been said before and it'll be said again. Mesmers really have no place in pve, sure they can bring a helpfull build but that spot would be much better off as another nuker, or a rit, or mm.
Regardless, here are a few builds for mesmer i use when i PvE with mine
Domination:
Energy Surge
Energy Burn,
Ether Nightmare
Cry of Frustration
Cry of Pain
Pain Inverter
Drain Enchantment
Resurrection Chant
Atts:
Domination-12+1+1
Fast Casting-9+1
Inspiration-9+1
Healing-3
How its played:
Basically, just find a cluster of enemies and drop e surge, burn, and ether nightmare on them, keep on a monk or ele and interupt key spells and throw pain inverter on the big guys(preferably eles) drain ench is for energy managment but can be swapped for something like energy tap
Illusion:
Ineptitude
Wandering Eye
Ether Nightmare
Cry of Pain
Pain Inverter
Energy Tap
Drain Enchantment
Resurrection Chant
Atts:
Illusion-12+1+1
Fast Casting:9+1
Inspiration:9+1
Healing-3
How to Play:
Basically, drop ether nightmare on mobs, pain inverter on the big guys, then ineptitude/wandering eye on melee classes to take some pressure off your monks

Epidemic might also be useful with Ineptitude. Use it on war that has many others around it and then just epidemic so everyone has blind. That's quite useful imo as well. Etc with dazed + Epidemic on casters such as.

For serious PvE mesmer ownage:
Me/Rt
Channeling Magic 10
Inspiration 8+
Domination 10+
Fast Casting gets the leftovers.
-Hex Eater Vortex [Elite]
-Shatter Enchantment or Inspired Enchant if you have too much energy management problems
-Drain Enchantment
-Splinter Weapon
-Ancestors Rage
-Power Drain
-Cry of Frustration
-Flesh of My Flesh
So much damage, plus drain enchant and power drain is a ton of energy flow.
For hexless areas, consider replacing HEV with esurge or something.

messing with rogues build and putting in Great Dwarf Weapon and Ebon Vanguard Standard of Honor can make you a very effective phyisical support character I would probably drop flesh and either CoF or one of the enchant removals depending on the area.

I'm disappointed. No one suggested Signet of Illusions (+3 PvE skills) yet?
