Guild Wars and Vista x64

Hey guys,

Does anyone know if Guild Wars works on the 64-bit version of Vista? I'm a memory nut and need to upgrade to that version to get my machine to use more than 4 gigs of RAM.

Thanks!

Righto, well Guild Wars works with Vista, that's all i know, im not an expert at Software really, i know the general stuff about Operating Systems, but even i dont know it all.

Still, GW's works on Vista 64 Bit, aswell as on XP 64 Bit, ofcourse the latter has more issues, but 32-64 Bit doesn't matter much to Guild Wars.

Well, i doubt he hasn't heard of that before, Vista's a Resource Hog, but im presuming by the fact our dear Sir has more then 4GB of Memory he's into RAM heavy programs anyways, so i don't think this is all for gaming only, thus its a worthy investment.

I have a question, about the OP question. It sounds like you want to upgrade to x64 just to use more then 4 gig of RAM, am I correct in thinking this?

off topic but I wanted to step in and say that the zune rocks. I have the 80GB Zune Original and wouldn't give it up anyday for an ipod.

WTF? What's a zune? & Welcome to GameAmp!

Vista is fine for the games themselves as long as you turn off all the fancy shite that runs in the background. Once you turn off the 'fancy new features' (that have been in various Linux releases for years) it dieasn't use toooooo much memory considering it's size.

The biggest problem you'll find is getting hold of Vista64 drivers for older software and maybe even some of the newer stuff too.

I heard a while back that ATi had been a bit slow with their V64 releases and most games were buggy on their cards, may well have been sorted now but it's worth checking out.

He's been here since '05:P
But welcome to the GW Forum:)

I think that GW will run just fine on 64-bit vista. I have the 32-bit version of Vista and Guild Wars runs perfectly on that, so why wouldn't it run on 64-bit?
