I am new to the game...help a girl out!

I have only been playing for about 2 weeks now. I am still working the kinks out of playing with my pet as a tank and learning when to call him off of a mob.
Is there anyway that i can get my pet to come back when a mob starts to flee with out having to hit the passive button like 20 times? He is an eager little kitty that doesn't seem to back off when I tell him to.
Also, I am still trying to find good quests that i can do solo or with one other person perhaps. I am not big on groups as of yet...i seem to die too much, due to no one healing me...
thanks

Nice happy tree gang avatar =)

The quests depend on the continent you are on, if you're playing as a Night Elf you may wanna hit the human / dwarf lands to have a wider variety of quests.

You should find solable and group quests at many different levels and difficulty there.

You can get your pet to stop chasing mobs with the "follow" command. I think that's what it is...been a while since I played. :-)

something else i've noticed is in the world of gaming, if you're a girl and you ask for help, the guys seem to come to your rescue alot quicker for some reason...haha

I find if you Concussive Shot, then send in your Pet to catch it mid-way, then blast it with ranged it keeps the pet away from the other ones, but it still kills the one you're hitting with arrows or bullets.

Re: I am new to the game...help a girl out!

Hmm, the whole guys helping out a girl thing tends to happen more on he non-rp servers where you've got a different sort of people playing. As a woman, who plays a female character, I noticed more attention in newbie areas. Also known griefers tend to hit on me more. I'm not sure if it's just me that I pull those kind of guys, ick!, or if the kind of guys who grief are more likely to hit on girls.

Anyhow, I also am soloing my characters. Odd that a couple of members of the more social gender would choose to solo quests... I have found that I am ok soloing quests in areas with mobs of mobs, like Murlocs, is easier if you wait for someone to come along who is collecting kills/items. Frequently they will clear the area ahead of you. This is only disadventageous if they are going after the same thing as you, because I never coordinate with them, just figure their level against the level of quests available for that area.

Rate other people's posts to give them feedback. I will frequently rate the first post of a new topic at least a 3, because that person is keeping the forums busy. I also will rate posts on how helpful they were to me, or how helpful I deem them to others. Please rate my posts to let me know if they have been useful to you.

A good way is too hit it with an arrow or bullet, Concussive shot, or rush in and Wing Clip it before you hurt it enough to make it run. Always check to make sure you have the pet set on defensive if you don't want it to run away after the monster.
