Design a race of foes you would like to face! 

Ok, since we have all the general 'negative' topics, I though that we could do with a good, lighthearted one. As a break from all the 'OMG I GOT BANNED' and 'OMG WHY DID THEY NERF xxxx' and 'OMG THEY SHOULD NERF xxxx'.

So, I present to you, my monster generator.

General rules:

Follow the instructions. No vampric weapons. State what each one monster is, and what it is intended for (both for its side (eg, healer) and area/level (eg, starting area).

This uses a 'point' system, to allow us to compare things.
Add up the points as you go (round ANY decimal up, so even 0.1 would be 1), so lets get started!

1) Choose a profession. Second profession FFP: Level(#, detailed in next step) X 2

2) Choose a level. Formula for point (FFP): Level(#) x 3

3) Choose attributes. FFP: Attribute Level(#) x 3. Max of 40 attribute levels to be spread. Max attribute level of 20. Weapon is same as highest attribute (eg, highest of Axe would give an axe), if of a weaponless attribute, or equal top attributes you choose any weapon you like.

4) Choose a skillset, max of 8 skills, two of which can be elite. FFP: Basic skills = 30 each, elite = 50 each.

5) Choose health and energy: high set, medium set or low set. HP and Energy regeneration is the same as it would be for a player of the same primary profession

High Set: FFP: Level(#) x 3
HP = Level(#) X 35 + 150
Energy = Basic for profession + Level(#) (+Energy Storage level X 3 if applicable)

Medium Set: FFP: Level(#) x 2
HP = Level(#) X 20 + 100
Energy = Basic for profession + Level(#) (+Energy Storage level X 3 if applicable)

Low Set: FFP: Level(#)
HP = Level(3) x 10 + 50
Energy = Basic for profession + .5 X Level(#) (+Energy Storage level X 3 if applicable)

6) Choose movement speed. Start at base of player speed, state how much faster/slow you want them to go, then use the formula below. Immobile enemies count as having -100% (You can go over 100%, but not under -100%).
FFP: Level(3) x (Speed difference(%) X 2).
So, going faster by 25%, and level 30, would give:
30 X (.25 X 2)

7) Armor (free) = Level x 3, for E, Me, Mo, Rt, Ne primaries. For A, R, D primaries, Level x 3 + 10. For W, P primaries, Level x 3 +20

8) Extras:
Natural Regeneration: FFP: Levels of regen(#) X 1/8Level(#)
Half Hex/Condition Time: FFP: Level(#) X 5
Immunity to Condition: FFP: Condition Immunity(# of) x 1.3Level(#)
Immunity to knockdown: FFP: Level(#) X 1.3
Immunity to interrupts: FFP: Level(#) X 1.5



EG:

Level 30 Warrior/Ranger, high hp/energy set. Using Skills of:
Eviscerate {E}, Executioner's Strike, Distracting Blow, "I will Avenge you", Charm Animal, Tigers Fury, Sprint. Attributes of: 16 Axe, 10 Strength, 10 Beast Mastery.
Normal movement speed, no extras. HP = 1200 (yes, a friggen lot), Energy = 50 (on a warrior, wow!). Armor of 110. We have a IWAY tank.

Points =
Level= 30 X 3 = 90
Professions= 90 x 2 = 180
Attributes= 16 X 3 + 10 X 3 + 10 X 3 = 108
HP/Energy Costs = 90 X 3 = 270
Skill Costs = 6 X 30 + 1 X 50 = 230

Total it all up: Should be 878 points (no calculator handy). To compare, use your common sense and keep the points close.
So you can design a whole team of foes, and how they patrol, and how their group is composed (eg, 2 monks, 2 warriors, 5 mesmers).


DISCLAIMER: I have just made this up, a thank you to guild wiki (unofficial) for the quick look of how pet armor works. This may be completely unfair as I have no clue how it will turn out. The only proof reading I have done is a quick glimpse at the point values for doing my example. If you can make any improvements or have any constructive criticism, please post it.

The points are there only to allow people to compare.
Two of those warriors would be able to survive alot of firepower, but you could get a whole lot of low level creatures for the same points value, and they may beat them because of 1) Numbers, and 2) umm, mesmerspam? XD

I'l try reading this again tonight, my attempts at comprehending this at first have failed, i will return to decrypting alien technologies that we get Emailed every week at SETI, alot easier really.

But I even made sure it was simplified from its original version in my head! (Mainly cause I couldn't be bothered to post 2 pages worth of data).

I'll post soon, I'm just gonna reserve me a spot while I get my thoughts together.

Not something I'd want to run into in big groups but it would make some of them dungeons more interesting. Intended for dungeons and mineral falls only.

Okay here goes:

L25 R/W Spikey Oooze
Attributes: 16 wilderness 10 expertise 10 Tactics
Skills: Barbed Trap, Flame Trap, Smoke Trap (e), Dust Trap, Healing Spring, Victory Is Mine (E).
High Hp/Energy Set
Movement Speed: normal
Armor: 75
Natural Regen: +2

Points:
25*3=75
90*2=180
16*3+10*3+10*3=108
75*3=225
50+50+30+30+30+30=220
2*4=8

and that gives me 816.

Not sure if I've got everything right but it's worth a try and kinda hard to figure. Feel free to say if it's incorrect and I'll edit points and whatnot.

Level 10 Monk, high hp/energy set. Using Skills of:
Healing Breeze, Glimmer of Light, Heal Area, Heal other, Words of comfort. Attributes of: 6 healing, 6 Divine
+25% movement speed, Regen +4, Immunity to knockdown, Immunity to interrupts. HP = 500 , Energy = 40 . Armor of 30.

Points =
Level= 10 X 3 = 30
Professions= 30 x 2 = 60
Attributes= 6 X 3 + 6 X 3 = 108
HP/Energy Costs = 30 X 3 = 90
Skill Costs = 4 X 30 + 1 X 50 = 170
Regen = 0.5
Knockdown = 13
Interrupts = 15

Total = 486.5

Not sure if it's right but i wanted a go.
