A while back (well ok over a year now) me and my dad where cruisin along (as we do) and saw this little guy in a vintage car showroom, my dad fell in love with so we decided it had to be ours. So a few days later we returned after persuading my mum to let us get it, and it was ours! Just thought I'd share a pic of it, it's hilarious to drive (we hardly ever do, only for fun) and what's better its got such a small engine it's pretty much free to run and barely pollutes, it has free insurance, free tax and free London congestion charge (for any Londoner that's fantastic) and it's worth quite a bit (it's quite an early version (1962) of the 2CV and it's in perfect working order and condition, the guy selling it was desperate as he needed to clear some space so we got it really cheap) someone even offered us £4000 for the licence plates alone! (they're the original ones) anyway here are some pics, my dad was telling me how he used to see them all the time when he was growing up in Morocco, good memories for him. We've since named him Asterix due to his french connection :)

Can i ask just how much you paid for this cutie? its really nice, i noticed a similar one on the highway to work last week, tin cans on wheels i say, but funny, and probably nice to drive aswell, Industrial Strength is rare these days :P

Haha yeah we also call him the metal turtle on wheels, snail on wheels etc lol. Our neighbour wrote "My other car is a snail" on our other cars dirt as a joke lol. We payed around £2600 I think, which was very cheap for such good condition, to a collector it's worth a hell of a lot more than that.
Seriously it's so light, I can lift it up off the ground from the back, which is lucky considering I had to push him over a mile while my dad steered when we broke down in the city lol. When we got home I realised why the hell was I the one pushing!

Hahaha! Nice, didn't know those cars where that light, you better tie it down with pins in concrete next time you get one of those typical UK Windy days, or it might just suddenly dissapear.
As for pushing that car, he's your dad, he worked all his life, and something like that, either he gives you that or he tells you it'll make your stronger whichever it is you still got to push it nonetheless.

Yeah, "back when I was your age....blah blah" and all that ballony, my dad used to tell me walked 18 miles to college a day when he was my age! But thank's to the marvelous thing that's google earth we found out it was actauly only 12... each way... 4 times a day... So yeah I guess I gotta hand it to him xD

Never seen a car like this before, it looks like it weights alot o_O. Also the shape reminds me of a tent :)

Whaha this reminds me of a story (well actualy two) that my parents told me once.
A loooong time ago (when I wasn't around yet), my parents went with a car like that all the way to southern France. On the highway they got surprised by a lot of rain. The windshield wipers went SO slow that they just had to stop at the side of the road. After 5 minutes of waiting my mother suddenly said it was getting kinda wet in the car.. turned out the rear window leaked like crazy xD Ah well.. I'm glad I wasn't there =P
Other story is when the sister of my mother bought a car like that. My dad stept in the car to test it and he drove up and down the street. When he came back he pulled the handbreak, but forgot that he wasn't sitting in his own car (a very old VW Golf) and he pullet the entire handle of the handbreak out of the car hahaha. In the end they had to call the garage to come pick em up, because they couldn't drive there due to the handbreak being stuck.
