OMG that sounds so cool lil bit of dominator's psionic assualt powers in there. Wasnt really sure if I was going to make a psychic blaster now that I see what it has to offer im going to roll one before they before they nerf it. Need to think of what best compliments it. Also going to make a fire/wp scrapper or fire/fire not sure what i want yet

I love it! Sounds like a really cool set, but I only got 1 question: Wouldn't Psychic Scream as a secondary mess up Psychic Blast, which comes with Psychic Scream, as a primary? Hopefully thats just a bit of a mistake because I like Psychic Blast the way it is, don't want any powers moved out...

I may be wrong as I don't play blasters very often, but isn't it just the primary blaster sets that have snipe attacks? Mental Manipulation will be a secondary set.

This set is obviously a PRIMARY blaster set, no doubt about that.

Except that the devs specifically said that Mental Manipulation was a secondary set. Psychic Blast is the primary set.

And the set is a collection of short range (melee range) attack powers and control powers.
And the set uses the same naming convention as the other blaster secondary powers (like "Fire Manipulation", "Energy Manipulation", "Electical Manipulation", etc.).
And the devs' announcement specifically said that Psychic Blast would be the blasters' new primary set and Mental Manipulation would be the new secondary.
I'm confused as to why there is any confusion here.

Er, as we seem to have established that Mental Manipulation is a secondary power set and snipe attacks would be in primary sets for a blaster, I'm not sure what you're getting at.

I can see Psychic Scream in the secondary to make room in the primary for Aim. All in all, that'd make Psi Blast stronger in the long run.
As for the Snipe, it'll be in the Primary, Psionic Lance.

umm, im not sure if you realize this or not, but ALL blaster primaries are offensive. and just because its ranged, doesn't mean it cannot be a blaster secondary. almost all of them have a ranged immob as the first power. and many dominator secondaries are melee as well:combustion, consume, mind probe, ripper, thorn burst, TOTAL FOCUS, greater ice sword. the dom secondary is a bad example as being "ranged sets."

Well, it sounds like Mind Probe won't technically be melee, but will require such "close proximity" that it might as well be. It's kinda hard to make psionic attacks melee. Maybe a sword of psionic energy. Or a Vulcan death grip. :-P That would have been hilarious.

In this case Melee just refers to proximity of the attack. Most of these require you to be in melee range to perform them.

i had the same concern. i know they are using the psionic assault set (dominator) for almost all of the powers, but that power is already part of the psychic blast set. also, since when is a cone, ranged purely damage attack part of a blaster secondary? i could understand if it were maybe some sort of crowd control...but i think its just a misprint. or maybe they came up with a new basic AoE for psi blast? I dunno.
if it still needs to be clarified, snipe powers are in the PRIMARY sets for blasters. so is Aim, not Build Up. That, and the fact that they said it was a secondary should tell you that this is a SECONDARY set. :)
can't wait for the official release of the powersets so I can start working on builds!

These sound great! I can't wait to get started on another Blaster! Man sooooo many good things coming soon. I like the looks of what they have done here. Im sure there will be modifications made after time. I recall not to long ago they tweaked a lot of the Power Sets. Im sure this one will be no diffrent.

Thermal and Cold Dom for heroes?
Please no, I always hated their buffs.
They dominant animations make every member of the team look alike.
What for do I build a costum matching my powers if a 1.Lvl teammates make me look like the human torch anway?

This set alone, will cause a rush to Wentworths. Their are only a handfull of hero or Villian powersets that offer any real defence against Psi attacks or holds, lots of set bonus are your only hope if you are going to a PVP zone. I recommend a generous investment in "Break Free Inc.", you're going to need a bunch.

Good point Marinex.
Psi-offensive sets aren't selling as well atm either.
Got a lot of them of late and they're not the biggest profit sets by a long shot.
That might change too. Might want to stock up on some cheap ones now :-)

I was planning on making a psychic blaster and I was thinking of having energy manipulation or electricity manipulation as my seconday. But after seeing this set, I might go all psionic with psychic/mental.
