For a long moment I was having fun with my Thrust headset in our guilds Vent channel. After 4 weeks the headset kinda broke down and I only got sound through one of the speakers (there was a disconnect in the the part of the cable that goes into your PC). My mic still worked good untill I ran away to the door while it was still on my head..
Now I really miss the ability to speak (not allowed in GvG's or HA parties) and I'm looking for a new headset, so..
Wich headset do you recommend, and why?
Oh and I don't want another Thrust thing cus that brand just sucks.. really.. hard.
Thanks in advance!

Tough call really, it really comes down what kind of headphones you like, as for brands Creative or Logitech are good ones, Thrust is more or less the ''you get what you pay for'' brand from my experience, you pay a small price and they also don't last extremely long.
Don't know which kind of headset you had before, i myself prefer ''supra-aural'' headphones, AkA the ones that go around your ear instead of actually on them, its alot more comfortable. I'd say look for a price around 50-60 euro's if you want a good & proper headset with microphone.

I've been using my Steelsound 5hv2 for over a year now and its as good as ever. My previous headsets would all break within a month time but this one is the only one to last longer then 3 months for me.
I recommend getting this one if you have 80-100 EUR to spend.

Edit: The above review has 6 pages.

I haven't found any other shops where you can get that one though.

My brother bought a $70 headset and the sound is great but the mic sound quality is really bad.
My old $5 headset's sound was bad but the mic was great.

Got a new headset a couple of weeks ago. SteelSeries Siberia Neckband.
Not like a usual headset. This one goes around your neck (o rly? couldn't tell thet from the name...). It takes some getting used to, to have it around your neck, but is actually really great. Has great sound and mic aswell. Mic can hide inside the headset so you won't have to have that thing sticking out in front of your head when you're just listening to music.
Linky
Didn't buy it at the price though. Much less expensive from other sites.
EDIT: The only music it's not very good at is classic, but heck, I don't think that a lot of people will buy a gaming headset to listen classic music...

Cool that looks like a very comfortable headset. And my prev headset was also one to put into your neck, so no problem there.
The only thing that bothers me is the following:
I have a Logitech speakerset and on the front it has a connection for a headset. But there's not connection for the microphone there.. so will I be splitting the entire cable so that the mic goes into the back of my PC and the sound cable laying on my desk, so I can put it in when needed?
Just wondering if it's possible to split the cord on the headset above. (my old headset had only mono sound, so I'd just lay it in my neck to speak and plug iPod earphones into the front of the speakers.
Thanks for all the replies so far.

EDIT: @Firebrazer ~ Is it also possible to buy this in Europe? Cus now I gotta pay that high price + a hell of a shipping cost =\

Yea it's possible to get it in Europe, the company is danish;)
As for the splitting the cord i don't know if that can be done. There are 2 cords in the package you get, 1 added to the headset itself, and another that can be added to the cord to make it longer. You can just let that longer cord stay in the computer all the time, and just plug the headset into that cord when you need to use the mic. Not sure if I've explained this correcly, but hope it helps.
EDIT:Found a \"Where to buy\" link.

Ah I was already wondering what they meant with "cable length: 1,27 + 1 = 2,27" lol. And thanks for that map, gonna check it out right now.

I have a Logitech one, that wraps around one's head. The speaker part kinda hurts my ears as the band goes over my ears. However, I have a built-in mic on my computer, so I do not use my headset anymore. As for running away with the headset on, I have done that MANY times and the cords are all still intact. Like I said before, I do not use my headset anymore and the one I have hasn't broken yet, so I do not have any advice to help you )=

Well those look like some good headsets, i never bothered too much with headsets besides a good one for listening music while in bed or something y'know, but when gaming i just got a desktop microphone + 5.1 Surround, i just can't handle a headset day in day out, it just lacks some things for me a surround set does bring (or do you place a Subwoofer on your head?)
