bonus mammoth

this might be a really stupid question but i just pre-ordered AoC from gamestop and it said the you will receive an email for the war mammoth i checked my email but the only thing there was a 30-day membership for alakazam. so does that mean im gonna get the key for the mammoth when the 3 day preview starts or am i missing something?

Heh, for a sec I thought you'd have bought the Age of Conan special collector’s edition limited-run box with a hand-finished metal-embossed cover and individually numbered holographic sticker mentioned here but the "standard" pre-order also comes with the goodies:

So, did you supply a valid e-mail address on a mail-server that does not consider theirs a spammer?
It also says: Pre-order Ships 5/20/2008 which is a date set in mud so to speak. It might be they send out the stuff around that time. Not sure. I'd do it that way because I'd not want people nagging that they deleted the e-mail with a code I sent them over a month before sending them the box.

Edit: Additionally, Funcom hasn't officially started their Pre-Order program yet. Maybe because they saw how much trouble Warhammer Online had with parties like Gamespot.
This could mean Gamespot doesn't have those codes yet. if you think Pre-orders are a smoothly run operation, go see a dozen or so *M*A*S*H* reruns and apply what you see there to this business :-)

I'm starting to seriously consider pre-ordering myself.
WAR won't be out till "Fall" so something to do for that half a year would be nice.
Ehm, Phe? Did you order US or EU version?

Yeah, they seem to be blissfully unaware of some things related to the game, as usual. It's why I tend to shy away from Pre-ordering in general. They're always a mess of missing information, which is a deliberate marketing gambit.

Anyhow, after long deliberation I went for the Rhino rather than the Woolly Mammoth. I'll be admiring yours though Phe, if given the chance :-)

Where did you get the Rhino from? I didn't see it listed on any of the 4 sites linked from the pre-order page...I only saw the bow and mammoth and books listed.

The Rhino comes with the Play.com (UK) pre-order version.
Not to be confused with the Play.com (UK) pre-order Collector's Edition version, which has a woolly mammoth in it.
