I'd like to start a discussion about the new patch (2.4), more so on it's undocumented changes.
The guild I am in has progressed to Zul'Aman and has pretty much set Kara onto farm mode. This past weekend we had our 1st Kara-farm run since the patch (bad schedules and the new area aside :-p). We did as expected for the most part until we hit Prince Malchezaar.
We wiped about 4 times before we called it. We were mostly too tired to continue. But it seems like there was/is a change in the "random" locations for his elementals, at least as we supposed. We normally have the healers by the door and typically heal the tank at max range. But, yesterday, it seemed like the elementals were really hurting us. We kept moving and relocating. After about 10-12 Kara runs prior to this one, we were kind of stumped on this one.

The way the Elementals drop has changed. (Like they needed this stupid fight to get harder) It has gotten a little tougher on the spotters.
First, the Infernals would come in and in the past, you would see them change to their final direction and keep coming straight to that spot at the same pace.
Now, when you see them coming they will make the direction change and dissapear for a second. So the spotter has to announce the movement after they hit the ground. It's very hard or close to impossible to know where they are going to land until last minute because they b-line it straight to their spot on the platform.
Secondly, they seem to have put more "random" in the "random". Sounds kinda silly.... but it is WoW we are talking about here. Many long standing guilds that are just farming Kara for badges and alt gear are reporting having to move much more.
What had happened was that most guilds had figured out a spot on the platform that had a very low drop chance. Ours was on the left side opposite the doorway, towards the back wall. Usually all we had to do was tell the tank "towards the raid" or "away from the raid" and scoot back and forth down that section of the wall. Now we have to move away from the wall almost every time. Almost every time we have to dance out into the middle section and stand in between two Infernals if there is room.
One tip: Pay close attention to where the first Infernal drops. It will dissapear before you finish the fight and is almost always a safe zone for the last push through stage 3.
On a lighter note, the Arcane Orbs that come from Void Reaver no longer stay affixed to the player it targets, just that location on the floor. So you no longer will get a player that will drag an orb into a crowd of people. All you have to do is run away from the landing spot before it blows up.

I haven't noticed a whole lot else that wasn't something in the patch notes. We did the Kara plow last night and stumbled twice on Prince due to bad drops.
Even if you have done this fight 1000 times and have full T6 gear, a bad set of drops will screw any run!
But since we have some Shamans running with our Alliance raid team now, a heroism or two during phase 2 to burn him down quickly is very usefull. The key is keeping him under 10 infernal drops.
I've already completed me research on my Sunwell badge gear. I'll be able to purchase Chest, Legs and Gloves as soon as we unlock the new vendor. That should be tonight or tomorrow on Garona.
I run in a raiding guild that has about 15 badd ass players, and 10 or so mediocre players that are usually unprepared and execute poorly, so we are still stumbling a lot on early 25 player content. So there has been a lot of gearing runs through Karazhan as we try to get folks geared for SSC and TK. I have about 330 badges to spend.
I'm looking forward to the boost in my stats, and the new look.
I should be able to farm up the badges for my last purchase, the Scryer's Blade, in a couple weeks of Heroics and Karazhan plows.
I know a lot of the upper end players are ticked that after all their hard work, Kara plow guilds like mine can buy T6 equivalent(almost...very close) gear. All I have to say is..... "Do you know how boring it is to play with a group that can't get past farming Gruul for a year!?" Heck, at least they got to see new fights, new places and have all that excitement. Whup-tee-do, I get to buy good gear from 12 months of Kara grinding. *yawn*
But I will look VERY cool once geared out. There is something to looking good while you melt face. And if the good looking gear is also sportin sweet stats......more's the better!
I'm hoping that a lot of our core players getting tweaked with Sunwell gear will at least make SSC and TK more doable for us. "If you can't get everyone in your guild to execute properly. Overgear your core of quality players."
The new 5 player Magister's Terrace has been a fun/frustrating new challenge. Oh man.... that third boss will make you throw your keyboard! Especially on Heroic mode. But there is some uber lewt to be had for folks gearing up alts or new members for a last hard push through the content before The Litch King.
That's all I got from Garona. Anyone else having fun with 2.4?

Nasty infernal drops, grrrrr. :-p Same thing happens to us. But it seems to happen more often than before the patch. We extracted our revenge the next day and nailed him on the 3rd try. First 2 failures were due to repositioning snafoos. But we got it down and killed him. No healing mace for me yet. :-((

We ran into that on one of my guilds. We instigated a mentor style procedure. Like: your best mage helps out another mage on their tactics, builds, gear, etc. Once we started it, we found that a few under "tutelege" were able to pass the tricks, etc to the next ones. It helped us get better organized and have a sort of "baseline" for what to expect from whichever classes in the raid regardless of who it was. Made raid life so much easier.
Frustration. I was there in a previous guild. I want to do this/be there members who don't know what it takes or are unwilling to do what it takes to get there. Now in my present one, we're progressing as a guild and it's all slowly coming together. :-p
Also, on Lightbringer, the badge NPC is now available after the requisites. Ima still slobbering!
