well i read this article on wiki about gw2 and becoz a friend of mine plays wow i play it sometimes 2
but mostely gw (duh!) but wow is a nice game
and there would be many things of wow that i would like to be intreduced to gw
now i read the article on wiki:and i found out that the most things wil be the same as WoW
-you can jump over things (in wow to)
-you can slide and swim (guess what in wow to (dont know about the sliding though))
- you can chose between diferent races like dwarfs asuran and others (that is one of the things i like the most in wow coz humans become boring after a while)
so i would like to hear out your opinions about this
(btw i know my english isn't that good, and i dont know if this was posted before but i was to lazy to check it out :P)

Since when is jumping and sliding copyrighted to World of Warcraft? Also there are thousands of rpg games where you choose between races, it's nothing new. In some cases I can see that it is slightly moving towards a WoW set up, but not based on any of the points you bring up.

The "cant jump" thing is TOTALLY fine with me, its so stressy to se ppl jump 24/7, the swim and slide things are stuff people have asked for and since WoW is for many (10 mil ppl) the best game in the world ofcourse they want it to be a copy of WoW.
The race system isnt "WoW" it's found in like every mmorpg there is and its cool / fun.
THE WORSE THING IS - HIGHER LEVELCAP - I play guildwars because i HATE grinding and spend my time lvling, i play cause it is faceroll. (yes, easy that is) -atleast for a warrior.
Summary, the game will be more like WoW because the WoW players wants it to be like WoW. Jump / Swim is flamed at by almost every single WoW player, swimming is cool but jumping is overrated.
Higher levelcap is TOTALLY overrated, it's just booring and patience eating. (FlYFF online for example, they have like this. "Go there kill that" - Loop. Also they have their armor like this: Head; lvl 5, chest, lvl 7, legings, lvl 8 and so on. SUCKS.

i said this about the races from wow becoz wow is the only game I know of with diferent races the most of them are only humans
and ya the higher lv cap sux and that they wanna make it infinite is even worse :(

I think having no level cap is great but only for prestige. Having so that say once you reach level 20 your attributes, health, armor etc are all maxed but you can still carry on levelling just for show would be great, it would certainly make me want to spend more time on the game, and afterall that's what they want.

I hope GW2 is sorta like WoW. There is nothing wrong with combining two of the greatest mmorpg's ever created!

GW's supposed to be a game that takes risks to be unique and taking the shape of any other mmorpg isnt that. Will still buy GW 2 tho. Providing great games without the dumb monthly fee is great.

That's far too vague, yes PvP titles = skill, but how can you classify spending hour after hour repeatadly completing a quest for title points skill? I mean don't get me wrong, I do it all the time and I enjoy it, plus it can make you money, but I wouldn't call it skill as such.

It personaly doesn't matter to me if it looks like WoW, Me like s WoW. The big difference is that in GW2 the leveling grind is unlimited (they say). The following is a summary of what is in WoW and GW2:
*You may enter a battle with a dragon, you can leave and join. but the one who did the most DPS gets better loot than the one with less(er) DPS. ( WoW has Raids, but you can raid a horde town, max 40 men, or a instance, end game boss. )

I was reading an interview with some of the founders of GW, I think it was on the PlayNC site not sure off hand though.
Jumping and swimming has been in games since the Atari. In the interview they said they wanted to add it because player asked for it and it is something they want to bring to the game but current code cannot support it. Also it does bring a certain "flavor" to the environment if these things can be done.
They also talked about how they were discussing levels. There will be a cap on actual "growth," where that limit will be had not been set yet but there will be a cap to how high stats will go. Basically the levels beyond where stats cap would be there just to show off like a title.
They also wanted to add other races for players to choose from but, yet again, the current code cannot support it.
One of the biggest reasons we are getting GW2 so soon in the life of the game, a game that is still going strong, is because the way the original is coded is preventing them from offer lots of thing the players want (one of the thing mentioned was larger storage for items among other things)
If I get the chance later I'll look for the interview and toss up a link.

Well I don't really care about not being able to jump. It's actualy nice that we can't jump cus than all I would see in my screen (if I wasn't at point blank range) is Miss Miss Miss Miss. Also bunny hopping is extremely annoying after a while.
And what if you slide down a hill that is very high? In WoW you still live to tell the story.. that's so super fake.
And I don't care about being human either. Since when aren't we cool? =P

Its called ressing.
I do hope we get mounts. I would pay like 100k to fly over tyria and elona. ( could also be mounts that fly on a specific route. (like ascalon -> Beacon's perch )

I go to a school. A school where like 70% of the students plays WoW, I learn more about WoW every day and I have never even moved a character on WoW. The monthly fee for a GAME is just absurd. YES they cost hella lot to make but that money is good. WHAT would I do without my candy money.

most titles = skill it doesnt take skilto get drunk or to have sugar rush or a partytime to a extent the survivor.but most of the outher titles take skill.
