Feeling nostalgic

Been reading Grifs intro post on the forums and am feeling a bit nostalgic. Remember Grif from the COH site back when it was all new. Remember theJeni also, she was UBER. I too have a special place in my heart for COH. Playing a healer was never so much fun as in that game.

It's amazing how games have progressed since. LOTRO is a prime example of everything to strive for in a game. I like the questing system especially. I like that you can have 40 quests at a time, useful when there are a LOT of new quests in the area. A lot better than WoW's miserly 25. The variety of different quests is good also.

Anyone who has ever had the misfortune to play The Saga of Ryzom knows exactly how bad a questing system can get, not that there wasn't a whole LOT MORE wrong with that game. The players themselves say that no one does the quests in that game as it was so poorly thought out. The thing I DID like about the game was the way you could make your own spells.

Yep, I was one of the crazy people that playing Ryzom for a while. I really loved it when I first started it. The concept of walking into a valley where predators were actually really hunting game all around you was really great. It felt real. But when I grew out of the starting areas and entered the bigger cities it sort of stalled for me. The creatures were either too high or too low for me, and after two months I gave up. I have fond memories of that game, though. Is it still around?

Well I haven't played for a LONG time so I'm not sure really. I had the same problems as you, at the time I played the community, while thinking it was good - wasn't really. No one really spoke to anyone, you couldn't get a team or any kind of help for love nor money. I found it boring after the first couple of areas.

Not only is the 40-quests-at-a-time feature great, but the quests themselves are awesome, with more interactive dynamics and great sub-plots that intertwine with the fellowship's journey. =D

I've always been a fan of the Lord of the Rings. To begin with I was skeptical about the game, I thought to myself how are they going to manage this etc etc. They've done super though. Am looking forward to the two new classes any guesses what they might be like?

There's not really an news, people are looking into the lore for mentions of wardens, but there's no real details.
I'll be updating the forum to include the classes, then I can maybe pool together all the info we're found out about them.
