Soooo...I'm new to this whole Guild Wars thing. I literally started yesterday, and it's treating me relatively well. I'll be searching the forums and guides for tips concerning the best playing style for my personality. If you've got any tips, feel free to share.
Also, I've been around GameAmp for a little bit. Normally, I spend my time on the City of Heroes site, but I decided to branch out. We'll see if it fits.

There was some test thing somewhere to find out what profession you should play...Can't remember what it was called, someone get a link! :P
It's not very accurate, though xD I play ranger almost all the time and got like...15% on rangers

Welcome to Guild Wars, just try out and read about the various professions, almost no-one ever started with one character and sticked with that one alone, testing out is the way to have the most out of the game.

first off. welcome to guildwars and gameamp. im sort of new myself, i bought the game a year ago, played it for 3 months then got an xbox360, played that for 9 months, it broke and now im back on guild wars. you will find gameamp really helpful with all your needs and it has a fun environment. you should apply to one of the amp guilds, such as [HUGS], [ToD], or [AMP]. im in [HUGS]. my in game name is xan zerax, ask me if you want some help with something

Haha, and i just started with City of Heroes xD
well if you have any questions just ask. But if you're really lazy i can give you some tips.
-Pick up everything in the game if it drops, even if it doesn't look like much, you can sell it to the merchant. After a while you'll get a nice amount of money doing this.
-Learn some shortcuts on your keyboard, will come in handy.
-Take the time to watch some of the cinematics, it is one of the many things that make Guild Wars great.
-Don't be a henchmen user too much, groups that consist of real players are much more fun (as you may know from CoH).
-Try to get into a nice and friendly guild, it really helps you.
-If you are wondering about what skills you want, or that suit you. Find a PvP area (or make a PvP character) and walk to a Priest of Balthazar. Here you can easily oversee all skills. This way you can safe money, instead of wasting all your money on the skills early in the game.
and no, i didn't read all of the responses everyone here made, so my post may contain other people's suggestions.
In the meanwhile, you can get addicted to Guild Wars. And then i'll get addicted to CoH ;]
