How can you know for sure which one is the L and which is the R on your speakers? There isn't any markings on my speakers, and it gets a bit annoying in war games when you need to hear which side the plane for example is coming from etc.

I would just test which was which and put them as far apart on their respective sides. I've never played a game with different sided speakers so not sure if this will work

Funny question, usually it states in the Manual which colored input-jack is what direction, some software (if you have an Audiocard) provide Self-Tests, so you hear a voice saying: Left, Right, or for 5.1 systems, Front Right, Front Left, and so on.
I haven't yet found any such option built-in windows or anything though, as you said though, playing a game and finding out where the sound comes from and then seeing it on the screen is also a possibility :P

u have sound control on your speakers... the side with the nobs are normally the right =P
