Mage help

I have decided to make a BE Mage for my main, but am stuck on deciding which proffesions to choose.
Im caught between herb/alch, or mining/engi.

High-level potions can be sick, and offer great buffs.

But on the other hand goggles, flying mount (kinda), and other goodies.

Not sure if it matters at all but im going arcane/fire. 35/26/0.

Throw up your opinions and why. :D

Edit: And another thing off topic. I remember watching my friend go on a website where he could view the number off races and classes on each server. Could anyone help me out with the link to that site.

RE: Mage help

WoWiki is great for those things.

As for professions you should go with the one you like the most.

Alchemy/Herbalism is great for potions, transmutes, elixirs. It's really good for self use, and great for money making.

Mining/Engineering is really different and cool, you get some really cool gadgets, and trust me a mage with invisibility and jumper cables is really loved. Engineering is probably the least profitable profession but mining is really good, so they balance each other out.
