Youtube Video In a Powerpoint

Ok so i am doing a reseach project for TExas A&M i have make a power point to show to the class. How do i embed the video in the power point? (I see the embed code but it doesnt work to just copy and past.) I would just put the link but Youtube is blocked by the school so how do i get the video to play in the power point without clicking the link?

Well first you need to add the thingy to the do-ma-hickey. After that install the whatchamacallit. Once that is complete you need to reboot the computer so the thing-a-ma-bob can reload.

Actually I have no clue. Wish I could help you but I can't. Good luck on your project though!

Well I wish I had a nickel, For every time I fell and blamed somebody else
I'd give a ton of money to the ones I’ve hurt, And I’d still be sittin' pretty well

I've spent years losin' touch of what's right and what's real Caught up in these missions of my own
And you're tellin' me you think I’ve done so damn well While we're sittin' here a thousand miles from home

There's a hole in your wisdom, a hole in your sky
Two holes in your head where the light's supposed to get by

hey ive just done a powerpoint presentation and had the same problem, what i did was...

search google for .... 'you tube video downloder'
(there will be tons of links that can download the video to ur computer)

then you need to search google for... 'flv converter'
(convert it into a mpeg or something simalar)

then you can insert it as a movie clip on powerpoint

RE: Youtube Video In a Powerpoint

Heres an easy way I used (I had the same problem a year or so back) Basicly go to the video link you would like to use, eg http://youtube.com/watch?v=BZP1rYjoBgI - Then, you need to modify the link in the following way:

example link - http://youtube.com/watch?v=BZP1rYjoBgI
Look for where the ?v= (highligted in yellow here) appears in the link you want, then you need replace this with /v/ Now when you follow this link you will see it will be displayed in full window in your browser, the original link I posted would now become http://youtube.com/watch/v/BZP1rYjoBgI.

Now, copy this modified link and head into powerpoint, under the developer tab (at the top of the screen in powerpoint 2007) you need to select the "more controls" button (looks like a hammer and screwdriver) and scroll down to shockwave flash object option, then draw a new box using this. Once this is done, right click on the box youut drew and select properties, you will see a random properties box here. Look at the list and go down to where it says "movie", then, in the input box to the right of this paste the modified link from earlier on. Once this is done close the box and voila the video is inserted into the presentation (preview the presentation just to make sure)

Sorry if that's a little confusing, let me know how you get on and I'll help out some more if needs be.

EDIT: awfull spelling
