I'm sure this topic has been brought up many times at this board but I've never been able to participate. With issue 12, there seems to be some cool things coming but I still have never gotten the same feeling of excitement since Issue 7 "Destiny Manifest". Maybe it was the cinematic, maybe it was the energy of the preview for Recluse's Victory. I think Issue 10 "Invasion" came close, but I still think Issue 7 got me the most excited. What do you guys think?

Issue 9. Adding inventions to fix what they did with ED and the GDN has made me happy again. Issue 12 looks to top that, though I'm not going to commit to anything until I see it live.

i think i11 was one of my favorites, not as much for the new powersets as the weapon customization. that looked (to me, anyway) like a first step towards power color customizing. like WP, i'm not going to pass judgment on i12 until i see it live, but i think it'll be my new favorite.

I would have to say which ever one it was that added Faultline. Dont remember the number and too lazy to look it up. But it was 8 I think. That issue gave such a huge boost to content that the teens could run in. Instead of just grinding through them you got to face AVs n such.

Take what I say with a grain of salt, as I didn't start playing CoX in earnest until Issue 11 was already out. But I do know what all the more recent issues have brought to the game. And if I had to pick one set of features that have brought me the most enjoyment, I'd probably go with Issue 11, as without it one of my favorite characters to play, the Ballplayer Reverend (a willpower/war mace tanker whose "mace", thanks to weapon custimization, is a baseball bat), would not be possible.
I'm an incurable altoholic, but most recently I've played as these characters:
Abana (hero, Champion), lvl 36 mag tanker, stone/stone/fit
The Ballplayer Reverend (hero, Champion), lvl 14 nat tanker will/mace
Shrathala (hero, Triumph), lvl 12 mag scrapper, dual/dark
Fat Kat (villain, Pinnacle), lvl 10 mut brute strength/will
Souleymane (hero, Champion), lvl 14 mag defender, dark/psy
Saffron Bow (hero, Triumph), lvl 5 nat blaster, arch/dev

Well, this is gonna tell you how long ago I started playing.......
Issue 2 - Shadows of the past
We got capes: You have no idea how hard it was to FEEL like a super hero without a cape. I mean, c-mon!
Effects: Most players take this feature for granted but nothing was cooloer than being able to set your eyes ablaze with burning green flames. Little zapps of electricity flashing all over your body without having to have any effects on. The coolness factor of the game, and the look of your characters took a giant step forward. (And my vid card took one giant dump soon after, but what the heck. It woulda anyhow.)
The Rularuu invasion: I log on one day after the patch and there are big.... I mean BIG eyeballs floating around Paragon and they look hungry. It was one of the first alien invasions that spawned all over the server.
I'll have to admit that the Winter Lord event was fun, the new IO enhancements and ability to change the looks of your weapons are huge upgrades to the game. But nothing compared to the day my Super Hero got their first cape!

Yeah, back in our days we didn't have all these fancy things like capes and glowing eyes... And 6 slotting for Health and Stamina was cool... and we walked to school, uphill, both ways, in the snow... ahh those were the days.
I got tell ya I have been thrilled with all the Issues because if there weren't any new updates we would all be doing something else by now....

That made me laugh. Uphill bothways, lol.
Anyways, my favorite issue of the ones that came out after i started, is prolly i9. WW's and IO were a great addition. Also, i think i12 is gonna be my new favorite. All those small things like even the user interface updates are making me excited

I'm with Thunder, I started playing CoH about a month before Issue 2 and till this day I think it did more to enhance the Hero feeling. Everything after that was just icing on the cake, some really tasty and sweet icing but icing non the less.

i think i came right after i5: forest of dread, when they added the archery and sonic sets, along with the croatoa missions. i just remember hearing a lot of buzz about sonic and how cool and new it was.

I know this may sound silly but hear me out. My favorite was issue 1, yep thats right the original right out of the box 47 (and several toons) months ago. I liked the game from the begining. It was the only online superhero game.
Ive liked each new addition as it just keeps making things better...and the best part FREE!!!!, I have consistently played this game since I bought it, I have bought and stopped every other mmorpg I played, but i keep on playing this one....Even though its simple...its fun and they just keep adding ot it.
Sp again I go with issue 1, the one that started it all

technically, that's Issue 0 you are talking about. Issue 1 was the first free update to the game. not exactly sure what they added then, but they did add somethin or other.

According to Paragon Wiki, these were the major additions with Issue 1:
* The level cap of heroes was raised from 40 to 50
* The addition of the Peregrine Island and Rikti Crash Site zones
* The addition of crystal prisons and 5th Column base prisons
* The Abandoned Sewers Trial
* Ability to earn up to three additional costume slots for your characters.
* Costume changes at the Icon store
* Outdoor instanced missions (i.e. "Board Train" missions)
* Hamidon was raised to level 50
* Malta Operatives, Carnival of Shadows, and Praetorians enemy groups were added.
NOTES: When the Council made their hostile takeover of the 5th Column, they inherited the base prisons...In Issue 10 the Rikti Crash Site was transformed into the Rikti War Zone.

I dont have a particular favorite but I2 always stood out to me. I just started playing the game a few months before it (started game in June of 04) and I had no clue about expansions. Never even realized I1 was out. Anyways, I was bouncing around Skyway and out of the blue these eyeballs start to attack me.
I had no idea what was going on (never went to main boards and wasnt on Gameamp yet). I can still see my MA/SR recoiling in fear as a mob of eyeballs swarm on me. Later I found out what was going on, then I realized I could soon earn my cape at 20 was very excited.
After the debacle of not knowing about Issues I made it my goal to learn of them. When I3 was announced I was prepared, was on test many times and really enjoyed being in the know. Actually despite losing the 5th, I3 was pretty cool. Going into IP (at the time) fighting hordes of Council against 5th was a sight to see.
On a sidenote: Who is the Grif imposter, I must declare shenanigans! SHENANIGANS! There can only be one Grif.

not straying of the topic to much...but i dont remember where I read it but there is rumor the 5th coumn may comeback. I to would like to see them back...although I enjoyed the firefight that took place in Atlas when the "council of war" issue came out.

i would hate to burst your bubble, but i highly doubt the 5th will come back. their leaders are all on the council now, and many TFs and story archs would need to be changed to make them 5th again.

Ouroboros is the return of the 5th Column. Don't expect a REAL return of them.

I only started playing the game around the time of I7 came out. I think my favorite though has to be I5 since that's when they added my favorite zone...Croatoa.
