But I do not like the bloody comments when someone complains about something, gets flamed at, defends himself, and then gets the reply "Oh it's just the internet." Or the "It's just a game" comment. I AM GETTING muffin PISSED ABOUT THESE COMMENTS.

Anyways, if people can actually prove it is possible to hold Civilized discussions im sure the place here will be better, i remember some people posting guides and whatnot on how to have proper discussions with constructive criticism, instead of one sentence 5 word replies which leave the reader clueless what the opinion is based upon and so forth.

Well, usually, on forums, there are PM buttons and E-mail buttons.
So in this case, yeah, I will definitly follow your advice.

to put my own 2 cents in, usually when I see people complaining and it bothers me and I think its pointless, I usually just dont reply at all ... and theres no point in flaming someone regardless. I have made the mistake of flaming before, and it just makes things worse. Buck up, and be nice, it makes it more pleasent for everybody. :)

Guys you gotta remember, when someone wants to jab at someone or piss someone off, they have a couple of things to consider.
1. I Don't know this person in RL
2. There probably hundreds of miles away from me, and don't know where I live.
The above then generates this going through someone's head: "I'm behind a computer keyboard and they will never find me, they don't know me or know where I live so i'm going to piss away on the keyboard and make them angry, wtf are they going to do? Nothing, they can't."
People feel very powerful when they hide behind their computer, of course no body in RL is gonna just take stabs at someone random because they would probably end up with a fat lip or bloody nose.
Bottom line is, bluntly: Don't take pieces of text on a website seriously when you know the person that wrote just wrote it because they know you can't do a thing about it.

OK, on a more serious note.
This IS the internet, as much as you hate people using that defence - that is how it works. Anonymity + Audience allows people to behave how ever negatively they want. Of course there are rules against it but people still can break them and thats why there are consequences.
"Trolling" and "flaming" on this site are barely dangerous, there are forums that are way worse than gameamp. So please, lighten up or grower some thicker skin (though I really doubt you'll need it here) and just get on with getting +1's and whatever else it s that you do.

I think you are both right. Deathaxe is right because those posts also drive me nuts (I think the people who post that kind of stuff know who they are), but on the other hand.. the pic Lani posted just kinda.. says it all.

I'd just like to add than if there's one thing I learned from the past flamewars (I think you all know where I'm talking about) is that you have to ignore such posts, rather than raging back to defend yourself.
Usualy when you ignore such posts, they get bored after a while, you saved yourself a flame war and maybe even a (temp) ban.
Though I don't want to sound too much like Forumite and hat-of-doom, do I'll stop now ^^

to put in my personal favorite cliche situation that leads into even more little cliche internet comments on here:
Posted screenshot: My Male Warrior FoW Armor! YAY!
average person's comment: grats on the new armor.
constructive average person's comment with a negative twist: grz on the armor, not my cup of tea, but still good for you!
constructive person's comment with a positive twist: wow, grz, i really like Warrior FoW, it's my favorite.
dickwad comment: wow, that's ugly ass armor, wth were you thinking?!?!?!?
cliche response from carebear towards dickwad's comment: if they like it, it's their opinion, you shouldn't make comments like that just because you don't like it... where's an admin to ban this flamer??!?!?
it's this end comment that starts the crap slide seen in so many posts. LOL.
in ending...
rant about something that isn't a resounding gong damnit, where's BP when you need him?

indeed, the length might be troublesome for many, i just wanted to show a good example. just be the average members, positive or negative, there are ways of being balanced in either and not extreme one way or the other, both extremes are bad.

guys seriously its just the internet, so lets all withhold our opinions unless they're of the "good for you" variety cause heaven forbid someone read something mean about them posted by someone they will never meet in thier enitre lives and be emotionally devistated by that for the rest of thier lives
also at GoT's post...thats almost exactly how it works, if you're threatened with a ban, it's 24 hours if you're a pve'r but if you're a pvp'er then you're just plain gone...despite how much you have contributed to the site
and at GoT's other post...flaming does help people out, look at Blazing's and everyone that flamed him, since that happened ive noticed the posts of his i read and go "god he's a _____ idiot" have gone down in number quite a bit
