Does anyone here listen to online radio or download podcasts?
I sometimes will listen to Pandora when I'm bored, but I don't have a desk job, so i don't think I'm a good person to ask (im sure most of the 14 year olds ont he site dont have desk jobs either)
But back in college me and my friend alex used to do a pretty successful show on campus called "Louder Than Math"
I have nice mics and plenty of music and i thought about getting the team back together and releasing a radio program once a week via podcast to download.
Answer these:
1)But do you listen to an online radio station?
-if so, how many and how often?
2)Would you listen to MY online radio show/podcast?
-or at least give it a shot?

I don't know if I would listen to your podcast/radio show thingy, but I'd at least give it a try, if it's any good, I'd be more than happy to listen to it weekly, otherwise, I'd just file it away under thing i don't like, lol.
Btw, what are you planning on doing for your show if you are going to do one?
And I don't listen to any online radio shows, but I do subscribe to OXM's, Bungie's, PCG's, Maximum PC's, and MMORPG.com's podcasts.

I listen to online stations, 'cos I don't have a normal radio. :P And even if I did, it's alot easier to listen to an online one, rather than running between the radio and the pc. :P

yes, I only listen to one station though, and I could be willing to try out a new one. Roughly every third day or so.

That would depend on what type of music you play, could you be as kind as to answer that? ;-)

Never, used to a year ago, but since then my Music Library has expanded alot, plus there aren't any good stations i found that have a big variation between music genres.
2)Would you listen to MY online radio show/podcast?

Depends what music it mainly is.
PodCasts i don't ever listen to, i prefer music. |

Well our old show was 3 hours long.
It would mostly be just us talking and playing music.
We'd usually have at least 1 guest per show, a local band or author, or like promoter or someone from a label etc.
Some segments we'd have was featured artist, where we'd play a block of their songs.
New album primiers, since we'd get advance copies before albums came out we'd play stuff early when a really hyped album came out (it was cool because you could hear more than just the single) -we cant do this anymore obvi
We'd have jam of the week, which was usually some michael jackson or queen song, or something really cheezy but was so good.
We'd talk about local upcoming events, just stuff like that.
which i know wouldn;t be as sucessful with people listening all over the world, but again, were did a college show, so they liked the local stuff.
Music wise, it's like a really broad mix from alternative to indie, to folk, anti-folk, rock hip hop, and dance.
basically hip stuff, (or stuff we thought was hip)
sorry no metal really.
Me and my friend are pretty good and funny not boring.
alex has done improv for years # improv olympics (horatio sans is from there) and actually has an audition at second city today (4/18) (chris farely, mike myers and a tons of other are from there) so hes funny.
it was just a hobby for us, and people thought it was funny, and IMO we play good music for the radio.
thats a basic idea, and i wont make any moves on this idea until my summer break.
thx for the support

I listen to a normal radio =D If I'm on the PC I usualy have iTunes open or I would be on Vent talking to ppl.

Hehe totaly depends on what it's about =D Would surely give it a shot, but if it's just boring talking I wouldn't listen to it. As a matter of fact.. I don't even know how to use podcasts = |
