Can you help me choose my next profession

I have now completed all three campaigns on my ele,

i'm not a player that likes to stand back and heal everyone else, or go right up and hit 1 thing then the next etc. i like standing back and blasting everything at once, hence the ele.

i now want to make another character that can stand back and destroyer everything, like the ele, but not an ele.

is there an option for me, if there is can you post a build that would suit it too.

.....i really appreciate any help i get!

Well, I would say go Necromancer.

Also,Ritualist,Ranger and Mesmer are an option.

that said, here are some options.

Ritualist/ Channeling Magic. Some nice high damage skills.
or as a ritualist, try spirits, they are much fun ^^
Necromancer/ Spiteful Spirit can do some nice damage.
Elementalist/ I know you have one, but try the other attributes. Earth and Fire have some really good skills.

Mesmer/ not blasting away anything, but it's just fun to totally shut off someone (or something)

I used both Fire and Earth with my last Ele, and don't think i will make another ele.

I have made Characters in all professions just havnt leveld them cus they didnt seem as fun as the ele in the lower levels.

The character im thinking of using next is the Rt but didn't know how the damage is in relation to an ele at the higher levels.

If somone could advise on a decent damaging rit build i will give it ago, on the other hand if someone comes up with advise for another profession i will try that instead.

LOL, you just gave all ranged professions as an option (except Paragon but they don't blast everything away). Doesn't really answer the question...

On topic: this is compeltly up to you, there are ofcourse several option: a Rt can go with Splinter Weapon and Barrage, a Ranger can do the same, a Necro can go SS or go MM with Mark of Pain and Barbs. I don't know much about Mesmers but I think they focus more on 1 target. My favorite is SS, bringing along Mark of Pain and Barbs to deal damage using Minions from Master of Whispers.

Warior Princes Xena: Warrior lvl 20
Kamiko Princess: Elementalist lvl 20
Princes Adirill: Monk lvl 20
Il Little Ritu Il: Ritualist lvl 20
No Tears Please: Assassin lvl 20
Empress Keileena: Necromancer lvl 20

A channeling Ritualist might be your liking, they can do alot of damage, especially to mobs just like ele's, but not totally like ele's.

You can always aswell use them as Second class Monks and so on, but i've only been using them for Channeling but i can say its good, i dislike playing as Ele myself. Just doesn't do it.

I know,But he wants to know what can blow up from range..

Well ..

Ranger - Barrage can do if you know how to use
Ritualist - Channeling / Spirit Spammer
Necromancer - SS
Mesmer - Fast Casting Nuker / Shutdown / Interupt (Can do alot of dmg)

Paragon is more Party Support..

I agree with all of those (for already said statements).

Except Mesmer, with Interuption you won't 'blast' away your opponents though (I'm not saying it ain't usefull, just answering the guy's deions).

Nice, i think i have decided that a rit is the way forward, i like the look of that spirit build you sent, and atleast then i will also get the chance of using channeling and seeing if i like that.

is there a profession that can hit alot of mobs at once at close range, i kinda thought it was just ranged professions and that the 1st line professions could only hit 1 at a time?!

Your welcome. The Dervish has a few skills that can hit multiple targets. The Warrior had Triple Chop for Axe Mastery but I don't play the Warrior that much so I am not sure on other skills. But the Dervish is the way to go if you want a melee character that can hit multiple targets that are adjacent to you. Some people say the Dervish is boring but I like mine (=

this is why i like ranged prrofessions generally they are mroe fun....

i think however i have found my next profession...

Depends what you like, i prefer Dervish or Assassin as Melee anyday, Dervish, depending on the build requires a bit more skill ''button bashing'' because certain builds require quite some enchantments, so going in unbuffed usually results in quick death.

Assassin's are in that aspect easier, most buff's can be applied during the battle as they usually give bonuses while attacking (Assassins attack the fastest, so the bonus is active unless you get knocked down really)

You can always try out those if Warrior isn't your slice of cake, i know its not for me.

Ehhm.

Errm..

Well i got something 17 (minus PvP Slots) characters in total, but the professions i mostly like are:

Necromancer,
Assassin,
Ritualist.

I can't really place any at ''my fav'' spot, it really depends what i want to do from time to time.
Just because i don't like one Caster class and one Melee class means i dislike them all, an Ele is quite different from a Paragon or Ranger, while all are in the Ranged Category, same goes for Melee.

sorry i didnt mean it to come out like i pressumed cus u disliked eles you disliked all ranged etc...

...its just you wrote off the ele prof and wondered therefore what prof you did like, which you also then answered so thanks!

well seems am comming on a tadd late but a profession that can offer challenge and fun is

mesmer
ritualist

my mesmer runs mainly ineptitude illusion built but adding a few of the pve skills (now yes ED I am that bad at the game :P) makes some Cry of Pain spikes that give nice AoE

my rit uses a rit lord spirit spammer built and in the high end area if I have the opportunity to set up spirit correctly the damage is just dandy

from the get go though I think the rit was more boring to play till I got the ritual lord skill (that is just me though)

so good luck on your ritualist I am sure you will like it, then who knows maybe the next one will be a mesmer :)

Ritualist is the best choice for you, seeing as the replies are clearly favoring Ritualists.

I never really cared for Ele either.

My Main has been my Necro. I started out mostly playing as MM. Had lots of fun running this for a long time.

For a while now though been running a SS build and recently started experimenting with variations. Curse builds are nice for direct AoE and DoT at the same time.

Blood is more Single target when it comes to Damage Dealing.

I am working on A Rit and a Ranger currently as a break from my Necro.

Rits are very adaptable to various builds. I am still working on building mine up an advancing through story lines to access better skills, but it is a lot of fun so far.

My Ranger is catching a bit more of my interest right now. I can dish out some nice dmg on her. Looking forward to getting a good Trapping build going and messing around with a few other builds. Might even get into PvP a bit with her LOL @,@;
