| I need a little help please |
|

I wasn't sure where to put this so I chose here.
I am having as problem with my desktop. I will explain the problem along with what i have figured out so far.
On my desktp, on the left side a bar appeared. It says
Folder Tasks
Make a new folder
Share a folder
Other places
My documents
Shared Documents
My network places
Details
Desktop
The problem is...I can't figure out how it got there, so now I Can't figure out how to make it go away.
Here is what i have figured out so far, or so i think anyway.
Its not actually "my desktop". My real desktop seems to be hidden under it. I say this for a few reasons, but what made me realize it was a program that I run called Object Dock, which is like a toolbar with icons. Its at the top of my screen and is set to be "on bottom" meaning when an application is running it is hidden behind it. It doesn't display now unless I mouse over it. So that is telling me it is running behind something.
When i click on my explorer icon (not internet...windows explorer) it does not appear on my screen. But in my "process" it shows it running.
I created a new user account on my system and did a file and transfer wizard which i only transfered my system settings to it from my original account to the new one. Prior to doing it the desktop appeared normal under the new account. Afterwards, it had this bar there.
Anyway, if I think of anything else I will add it. Until then i am going to try to ignore it and pray that someone here knows what this is cause it is really annoying the crap out of me. Please help!!!!

Should be able to right click and close the bar through one of the options as for getting it there in the first place you probably went to click on my docs and accidentally dragged it slightly into the side and it auto created the bar for you.

There is no right click (or left except on the above mentioned things). Also i don't have a "My Documents" icon on the desktop so I couldn't have slid anything.
I appriciate the input though. +cred
Well I wish I had a nickel, For every time I fell and blamed somebody else
I'd give a ton of money to the ones I’ve hurt, And I’d still be sittin' pretty well
I've spent years losin' touch of what's right and what's real Caught up in these missions of my own
And you're tellin' me you think I’ve done so damn well While we're sittin' here a thousand miles from home
There's a hole in your wisdom, a hole in your sky
Two holes in your head where the light's supposed to get by

You should be able to drag that off and x it out. If you can't, first make sure the "Lock Taskbar" is unlocked. Then you should be able to drag it to a window you can just x out of. :)

Which account has ownership of the transferred files you think?
Setting ownership of the "system settings files" for your new account to your new account might solve your issues. Provided the issues didn't occur before you did this.
To be honest, transferring "system files" from one account to another on an NTFS filesystem is generally a Bad Idea unless you know your sysadmin stuff like the difference between ownership and read/write/execute rights.
