hello everyone, thanks for reading this post.
i have been extremely disheartened by the state of this community in recent weeks. I will not point fingers at any individuals; in fact, there are very few members of these forums that i feel have not contributed in some way. Sadly, the community as a whole has suffered from a recent infusion of ursan-related topics and 3rd-degree flaming. I have come to the conclusion that my presence on this sight is not meaningful if such topics and hate continue. i have tried my best to refrain from trolling, as tempting as it might be at times. still, this community is in such a poor state right now that i must say that i would rather not be a part of it anymore.
i may still browse at times, but it is hardly worthwhile when out of the the latest 5 posts, 3 are about ursan and the other 2 have degraded into off-topic hate spamming. much like a religion, the guild wars gameamp community is on the verge of a schism, and i would rather not stick around and watch the bloodshed. i will still be playing guild wars when i'm not busy with TF2 or halo, and (hopefully) still be a member of [ToD], but my presence on this site will be at a minimum.
the thought process leading me to this decision has been long and difficult, but i feel that this is a necessary choice. i look forward to seeing most of you on the GW2 forums, unless A-Net decides to carry UB over to the next game, in which case i will most likely go on a homicidal rampage, so look for me in the news.

Gotta agree with you on way to many UB topics. Still sad too see a member of the site go, but at least you're not leavin GW:P

I, also, agree. Which is why I've been so hard on the GM's lately. If they don't do something to improve, they're gonna lose alot of people.
Sorry to see ya go, but like above; at least you won't be leaving GW.

I respect your decision and the way you fee about it, but you are letting a few select idiots run you off? Why? Just ignore them if it gets under your skin. But if you choose to leave then you will be letting these jerks defeat you. I hate to see that happen.
You have your entire life to be a jerk. So why don't you take today off?

thanks guys, and in response to rev, it isnt a few obnoxious members on this site that are driving me away. in fact, i can only think of one or two such people. its more the useful, respectable members of the community- everyone is caught up in useless rants and flame-fests. no one is truly at fault, this site has just become a hostile environment as of late, and id rather not be in the battle zone

That is why I read and only sometimes write on the boards. The idiocy on these boards are starting to go beyond the normal routine of things. I just ignore them and keep browsing. :)

In my opinion (honestly, not sucking up), there isn't a lot they can improve. The problem is people posting up the same topics, and refusing to actually discuss anything before collapsing into off-topic and flames.
The major contributing factor is the age of the game, and how much some people now know about it, which means almost every on-topic question has been seen before. This is in no way the fault of the admins on a forum.
Feel free to pm me ingame if you have any Qs about what I say or about game mechanics, or just wanna talk random crap :p

i have absolutely no qualms with the admins here. i think they are doing their utmost to preserve what is left of this community. actually, drucila leaving is one of the events that led me to thinking about taking my leave from this site. thank you to all admins, you guys have been great

Yeah, I usually swing by to check out the top 5, and only post when I think I might have something of value to say (which is rare, and often someone beats me to it), or when there is news. Otherwise I spend more time on GWO, where there is at least some lively discussion about GW2...

Meh I would post an official declaration of me leaving as well but I don't think anyone would care. I probably wont be posting much anymore either. It's just really boring lots of the time now. Just a bunch of people arguing about nothing.
Hel lthe only reason I keep visting is beacuse of the scrreenshots.
