| Guild Wars (graphical) problems |

Hey,
I've bought parts for my computer (thanks forumite) and installed them about 10 days ago.
I've installed all drivers etc. and GuildWars too.
But when I start GuildWars, my screen is graphically not good.
The ground is made of squares.
Here are some screens:

I think you get the point
I made them look good by turning the graphics to the worst, then turning them to the best.
The whole area is "good" when you do it this way.
I also have another small problem:
I just bought GW factions :D, but I installed it wrong.
Now I have 2 maps of Guild Wars, 1 with factions and 1 with prophecies and nightfall.
this is my graphics card (or is it called video card?):
Asus EN7300GS, 256 MB, DDR2, PCI Express x16

1st Problem: That I think is not something YOU can solve yourself, perhaps the Support Crew of Arena Net can fix that, but then again, perhaps not...
2th problem: Are you sure you installed the lastest drivers?

The first problem you mention, I'm guessing is with accounts. When you say you have 2 maps, does that mean you have two separate accounts. One account with access to the Prophecies and Nightfall Campaigns and one other account with just access to Factions.
If that is the case, there is no real fix for it. You can contact NCSoft Support to see if they might be able to merge the two accounts, I've seen it done in some extreme circumstances, perhaps they can help you
As for the graphics problem, make sure you have the latest drivers for your card.

it is one account, but it are two maps...
one is on C:guildwars
the other one is on C:games/guildwars
it arent two accounts, because I see my prophecies charrs and my faction charr.
It isnt really a problem, the only thing is that my templates and screens are in my first map...
I'll check if I can access to the old templates on another charr
But the biggest problem is the first one with the squares
EDIT: I installed the drivers from the cd-rom that came with the card...

the drivers that come with your gfx card wont be upto date unless you're lucky,
if you have an ati card go here and follow the instructions
ati
for nvdidia go here and do the same
nvidia
to sort out your templates, goto your program folder:
c:\Program Files\Guild Wars or whatever and copy the folder template to the other gw folder. sorted :)

Well. up-to-date drivers are not always the best, some people ships their computers with good stable drivers isntead.
The squares could be your gpu not handling the texture?
I swear, SOMEONE IS HOAXING MY POSTS TO MAKE MY GRAMMAR LOOK BAD!

As he ordered the PC in parts and not as a pre-build box from a store, he gets the drivers on the CD coming with the card. Which means out-of-date.
Liquide, you should try to install this driver, which is for your nVidia 7300GS video card (graphics card & video card are interchangeable terms).
Installing those should solve one part of the problem.

Ok, this is simply a case of having installed the game client twice. The only 'problem' with this is that it wasn't necessary :-)
I.e. Your "Prophecies & Nightfall game client" is fully capable of running Factions as well. It's your account that matters. The client will update with what it needs.
So you can simply uninstall one of them, if you added your Factions Key to the account that you have the other two on.
I'd recommend removing the one that is the newest and keep using the one your used to.
Don't go copying stuff you don't know what it is to another location when you don't know what that is. And above all don't listen to people who give that kind of solution.
Why is this copying a Bad thing you ask? One of them is the Client for Prophecies & Nightfall and the other Prophecies & Factions. Windows' copy / move protocol is not intelligent enough to do a "Proph&Night + Proph&Fact = Proph&Fact&Night" equation. it ios however fully capable of doing a "Proph&Night + Proph&Fact = You-have-to-download-three-campaigns-again" equation.

I have installed the latest drivers, I followed hairychimpdudes link and let them check what the best driver is(thanks to the others too).
It is fully working now :D
I think I know what is going on with the second problem:
I first installed prophecies and NF.
Then I did a run with -image.
Then I installed factions.
Then I did a run with -image.
When I go on a charr which can only access proph I dont have to DL and I dont have any templates.
I also have just one "picture to start GW with"(dont know how to call it in english).
I think I can just put the screens and templates to the new version and then delete the old version.

That picture, is called a desktop icon or a shortcut, 'Bureaublad Icoon' and 'snelkoppeling' respectively in Dutch.
You can right-click it and go to Properties/Eigenschappen to see to which installation of the client it points.
I think adding the screenshots and templates of either one to the other and then uninstalling the former is your best bet indeed :-)
