This is really for people who don't already have a fileplanet subion, but do have Comcast as their ISP. Go here to get your free Fileplanet Founder's Club subion.
The rules state that you have to have at least 8mbps cable internet, but I've got 6mbps and it allowed me to get a free subion.
Once you've got your free subion, the best way to get a key is to download and install Fileplanet's Comrade. It's and instant messaging program that will alert you as soon as they release a batch of beta keys. Earlier in the week, they were out in 5 minutes or less after they announced they released a batch. So, that's your best bet probably. Just follow the directions when you get to the AoC beta page.
Oh yeah, and there's only 2 more days to get an open beta key this way. Good luck.

As it happens I have an free-for-life subscr!ption from FP, which is a good thing as I don't have Comcast, which i hear is another good thing :-)
Just a warning: the downloadable file is 12 gb and packs out to even larger. If your system had trouble running Vanguard, you might want to think twice about this one.

Will do. Have to do it tomorrow, I don't have it installed at home.
I am installing the client now though. Just over 26GB large installed. I do believe that's bigger than what Vanguard was at the start.
