| Issues with staying connected to GW? |
|
|
|
Is anyone else having a hard time staying connected to the GW servers? I have lost connection at least 10 times, if not more, this morning and afternoon. Anyone have a clue as to why? My internet connection is absolutely fine too.

No problem here either. A few of my friends have ComCast ( the worst ever) and they havent been able to stay connected. Maybe see if your ISP is working on the lines or having problems.

I restarted my PC 3 times did a virus scan and still can't stay connected for more than 5 minutes at a time. I have Verizon or AT&T don't remember which at the moment, too pissed off. XD

What you could do is (and I got this from Lani when I had the same problem): Search google for Pingplotter, download and install. Than let it run for couple of hours to (for example) gameamp.
If you see a big red collumn at the bottom row it means there 0 data traffic going.. if that happens a lot you can save it as a .jpg file and than you have proof to start compaining at your internet provider ;)

Blazings is Quoted 4 Truth.
Also, what i recommend is IF you get more relaxed later on and got a clear mind, see if you can find your Internet Service Provider's (ISP) Service number, you might want to make a call and (kindly) ask them what the hell is goin' on.
It could be anything, but if you swear by the fact you haven't changed/installed anything whatsoever, it could be something in your neighborhood got Muffin'd Up.

I have noticed it taking waaaaaaaaaaaay longer to get on when I first start the game. The other night I got signed in, chose a Char, clicked Play, and waited for 1-2 Min till the loading screen cleared. This screen has been taking a bit longer lately.
After that it all seems to go fine other than an increase in Rubber-banding and connection slow downs. I have only been disconnected once for it though.

I clocked about 45-50 Sec loading up Ascalon City. Then my computer, which has more then enough power to run 5 guildwars at once will struggle to play and freeze up every 5 seconds for a few sec at a time... very frustrating.

I've been having more trouble since the last update but not enough to be more than a little annoying. I don't think its an ISP problem, probably just some quirk with the last update. Last time they did temp changes I had the same problem and was fixed when they put it back.

Oh hey, nice of you to quote my PDA.
Several times, yes ... but that can also be because I have a WiFi Wireless. About 6-8 meter removed. Thrue 2-3 walls.
When on SmallBand it's like playing with DialUp (well, close enough anyway).
