I know this isnt going to be implimented into GW1 but i think it would be a great idea for GW2
The idea you ask? an Upgrade/Mod trader in towns...ive come to the decision that this is a good idea after spamming kamadan for the better part of an hour trying to get the 20/20 HSR/HCT mods for my mesmers offhand
i really dont think this would be all to hard to impliment...maybe make each mod cost X gold then X materials(depending on if its sword, bow, wand etc etc etc)(this would be a crafter, not a trader) or just have a trader like they have material traders, and have prices per mod(depending on how usefull/popular it is) that flucutate...this would give an easy place to unload all the mods/inions you have cluttering up storage and would help alot of people looking for strange mods people usually dont keep(things like deathbane or increase condition by 33%(except cripple)
Imagine how many mods you have, say for a staff wrapping of fortitued. if you were able to sell health +15 - +30. Thats 15 items there, now times that by 2 for head staffs, now do the same again for e-management staffs and wrappings. thats 60 items the trader has to hold for an ele, just on 2 attributes being health and energy. Now add all the inions you could add. You would literally have hundereds of items per proffession.
And if this is also going to be a trader, the trader will stop buying items after a while once he has too much of something. And the fact that 99% of people wont be buying that +29 when there is a +30 next to it. so eventually the trader will stop buying them, which makes the idea of it become obselite in the end if people will only buy out the max items 9/10. This also begs the question if crappy items will be worth more if people sell less of the to the trader. If i was to go to pre and find some crappy mod, would it be worth more to the trader than a max one?
This would also make the econemy crash even more as perfect items would be easily obtainable with a trader. you will only be able to sell a r9 'perfect' items for a little bit lss than the trader equivalent, meaning there would be no more fluctuation in prices.
... sorry, sounded a lot better in my head when i was thinking about it...
i was kinda imagining him only have perfect mods...and stan, the health mods and energy mods would be for all casters(not just ele) i would imagine in total hed have probably 50 or so items
Would be nice to have a trader that sells/buys things like that. But, all I want is a Beast Mastery Staff pl0x?!

ok, sorry, that was a bad example, but say that you want x magic +1/20%, times that by 4 for each prof that uses a staff. half casting time, half recharge time for staffs. i mean, for me to list everyhting that can be added to a staff...., the list is endless. it just seems like its a lazy way to trade. if your gonna do this, you may aswel make a weapon trader etc. for all r9 weaps.
I like the idea! It's not a new one, though. At least not for me :]
But... There would have to be one trader for each weapon type (pretty much like the green weps in the end of each game) or something to make it somewhat easy to find what you're looking for. Or the greatest thing I can think of, more like the rune trader; one "tab" for each mod type.
Another thing would be a minimum cost, probably something like 5k a mod to make mods worth something. To sell it ofc, could be pretty much lower. There has to be a disadvantage of some kind.
Staves can be upgraded with Swift, Adept, Defensive, Hale, and Insightful Staff Heads and Staff Wrappings of Defense, Shelter, Warding, Enchanting, Fortitude, Mastery, , and slaying.
Qouted from wiki. All of those can go on all staves so it's not actually that many.
All of the inions for Staves are for all profs aswell

He has some great ideas and some of them got implented.
There is also an idea called "Weapons Trader upgrade suggestion"
The idea is that you can sell the upgrade components to weapon traders.
He has attached this image:
I think there should be tabs for every proffesion as suggested in this thread and you should be able to sell inions.
But selling them to weapon traders is definitly a good idea!

Mai Englisch is'nt verry good, so plaese keep taht in you're minds.
You know I have had this idea for some time now. Honestly only ones worth putting on there would be max mods. I also imagined something like the rune trader, but prolly need to put a few of them there to split up the items a bit.
It would make getting the Mods you want so much easier than going from one "Main" city/town/outpost to another.
I got a staff from the BMP I wanna get modded out for my Necro, but trying to find some of the mods off Trade channel, Search comments, and putting up my own "WTB" comments has driven me to all but give up on the search.
I got way too much to try and get done in the game yet to spend hours looking for this stuff.
