Hardware Requirements

QUOTE
Required:
OS: Windows Vista/XP
Processor: 3GHz Pentium IV
RAM: 1GB RAM
Video Card: Shader Model 2.0 and 128MB RAM: NVIDIA GeForce 5800 or ATI 9800

Recommended:

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz (E6600) or better
Vdeo Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7950GX2 or better
RAM: 2GB or more

Enhanced for: DirectX 10, 64-bit processors, multi-core
Supports Parental Controls on Windows Vista

These are the hardware requirements I found a while ago.
My system's nearly matching the Recommended specs, except I got a 3.4Ghz CPU. I am still on a G7950 but have ordered in an G8800 to replace it. Upgrading my memory which I'd rather have done would have been to costly as I'd need a new Motherboard (old one caps at 2GB) and couldn't find one that used the same exact memory I got so I would need new memory to.
Anyway, In would like to say, these are recommended specs.
I would recommend not trying this game with anything less than these specs. Why? Because you'd have to go for low settings and while these look ok-ish, they also look very obviously lowered quality-like. and unless you really don't give a rat's donkey about looks, you'll fidn yourself constantly pushing sliders one by one to see if you can amp it up just a bit. or you find yourself giving a teary farewell to the most cost-efficiently upgradeable piece of hardware you got, like me.

Oh, and going by the Beta clinet, you may want to defragment your hard-disk between installation and first play-session. It was about 20% lag-difference. AoC uses a database (like many MMOG's by the way) and those don't like being spread all around the disk.
