RE: Brute Build Help???

Well for starters I'm sure most would agree that there is no single combination that is the best, but here's some tips depending on your style of play.

If you're looking to farm then electric melee and super strength are the best primaries. and granite armor, will power and invul are the top defenses.

most used combos are ela/stone, ss/wp and most people get mu mastery as a patron.

As far as PvP goes em/ela just might be the best. If there's another to top that my ears are open.

Now speaking on a personal level, if I had to pick any set as a overall best, I'm gonna have to say SS/WP/MU

RE: Brute Build Help???

Well, the defensive sets are Stone (mostly) and Energy Aura. Stone is a strong mix of defense and resists, while Energy Aura is mainly focused on Defense. The others sets with *some* defense power are Invul, and Willpower, but are more resist based. And if you want to wait a little whole for i12 to come out, Super Reflexes will be available as a defense option as well.

Since I've gotten an energy/energy brute to 50, I can say that its definetly a more scrapper based set, and not good for tanking or PvP if thats a concern at all.

I'd say Super Strength would be a good starting set to get used to, nice attack chain, and good mitigation with a mix of kb, stun and a hold. Dark Melee and Energy Melee are nice as well, with Dark using -acc and Fear, and Energy using higher burst damage and stuns.

Virtue:
*Titan of Granite: lvl 50 Tanker*
*Neo Nebula: lvl 50 Controller*
*Cilux: lvl 50 Scrapper*
SpecOp Wolfsbane: lvl 24 Scrapper
Astraeus': lvl 42 Scrapper
Griffan: lvl 45 Defender
Justice:
*Xenokrates: lvl 50 Brute*
*Kuramaru: lvl 50 MM*
Wolf Fury: lvl 38 Brute
Bullitz Krieg: lvl 40 MM
Towering Shadow: lvl 38 Bane Soldier
Guardian:
*Titaness of Fire: lvl 50 Tank*
Shikimori: lvl 41 Controller
Gun-Power: lvl 29 Blaster
Zanpakuto: lvl 45 Scrapper

RE: Brute Build Help???

if you want an evasive toon, i would either get dark/nrg or wait and get dark/sr. the energy aura and super reflexes are the best defense sets, and dark melee has a -acc on just about every attack, which basically translates into defense. i would reccamend the energy aura over super reflexes though, because energy has an endurance boost and an endurace discount power. their tier nine is also better than reflexe's IMO because it also grants a +max HP with it.

the reason i didnt reccamend going /stone was because you also asked for a high dmg output, and granite deminishes that. the lower base dmg from it is bad enough, but the slowed recharge makes building and maintaining fury hard to do too. and most of its fury will be lost from the time it takes granite or rooted to get to the next group.

so all in all my say is to try dark/energy for what you are asking. if you want a build IO or SO just ask, i will make one and im sure worron will jump at the chance to make one for you as well

RE: Brute Build Help???

I agree that the most evasive brute as of yet would be something along the lines of /EA, and the soon to come /SR, although i dispise /ea with all of my heart, it being more of a scrapperish set, its the only way to play ATM without being supa slow and have damage penaltys, although if you dont mind that and just wanna tank, and still have a Def type build, i would suggest a DA/Stone works well, the self heal mixed with the heal from Aid self and Earths Embrace is all you need to handle any kind of trouble.
