Extended Display in Windows. Full Screen Games. Questions.

So i have an extended desktop running in Windows. It's pretty handy for more space even tho my primary is 20" WS LCD and the secondary is my ancient 15" Non WS LCD. But how annoying is it to keep alt tabbing out of gw or other full screen stuff to go to the internet or AIM.. or anything else.

My question is this, how can i make it that my mouse pointer jumps from the game to the secondary screen? Because right now when i go into a full screen game, such as guildwars, or call of duty 4, it won't let me jump displays.

Thanks.

~Chris

You cant "jump" over when running full screen apps such as games. I think it works in windowed mode but not sure (some time agi o tried multi screens).

Quite sure u would break something if u had an intense fight and then accidently moves the mouse to the wrong screen <.<

What he said, imagine playing CoD4, you turn around and suddenly you only make a quarter turn because your mouse is on the other display.

Dual Displays do rock, but regarding the usefulness sometimes, but thats another matter alltogether :)

It actually can work in the way described.
I know for sure Unreal Engine games can do a kind of maximized-windowed mode without any window dressing (the top bar and whatnot. Think full-screen but with a taskbar) This allows you to move your mousepointer to the second screen and alt-tab to other applications, without the telltale issues you have when going from a full-screen app to 2nd display. Effectively it's best of both worlds of Fullscreen & widnowed mode.

Not many games have the option by default so you have to know how to enable it then (I don't by heart). I don't recall GW having it though. When I played it I used to have GW running on my primary 22" and Gameamp on the second 22" along with IM's mail and whatnot but that was with GW windowed mode as performance loss that way is minimal for GW and I could live with the windowdressing. This was on an ATI Radeon 9800 at the time, also worked fine with Radeon X1600 (AGP) and G7950 GS (PCIE)

Oh and the turning around in an FPS game to find your mouse slipping into the 2nd display would mean the FPS game's devlopers are dumbasses to have an invisible pointer while the mouse is slaved to camera rotation. That's not neccessary and I think would need some hacking to most used engines nowadays.

Well with that said i guess i can't do it. But yeah i was messing around with Everquest 2 in windowed mode and dragged it across 2 screens, it was pretty cool actually, i saw my char on the main screen and on the other was all stretched out on the side but i could see as if there was another camera attacked to the side of my character.
