Some cheeky tricks

Here are a few tricks which are fun to use. They do give you an advantage, but aren't worth using all the time. Some you may already know.

1) Warrior Slide
When you are about half way through an attack (not less), you can move whilst you are swinging your weapon. This is most useful if you're using Bull's Strike, so you can get to where they are going to be moving to.

2) Free Deflect Arrows
Using click-to-move, constantly click in diagonals to the way you want to move, alternating which side of the path you want to take. Since arrows, spears, wands and staves fire based on where you are moving to, you will avoid most of the attacks.

3) Cliffrunner
On Frozen Isle, about half way up the cliff at the rear of the flag stand (opposite side to the ice), you can run up and down the cliff.

4) Quickswap
To switch quickly between weapon sets, hit escape before you do it.

5) Avoid Bull's Strike
As you see the activation, get to about halfway, hit escape, let it hit, then keep running. This means you get the extra ~0.5 seconds run time over just stopping as he starts the activation.

6) Houseblock
On Hunter, Wizard and Warrior Isles, stand on the flag stand side of the house near the enemy base. This balls all their npcs up into the choke, and the archers will start shooting at the building.

7) Longest Sword Ever?
If you are directly above or below somebody, you can actually hit them with a melee weapon. The same is true of traps and other things.

I'll update as I think of more. Sadly, the flagwarp doesn't work anymore :(

RE: Some cheeky tricks

I know the Deflect one and the longest sword one, its fun to use, once killed someone playing assassin and standing on a bridge at Grenz Frontier in AB, big WTF moment right there.

As for the quickswap, i know it from months back, but i've never truly found the use in switching weapons for each opponent, its too much of a fuss i don't want to have, but im sure the pro-El337 people need it or something, F1 F2 F3 F4 F2 F3 F1 F4

No Thankies.

Insta-Enchant, when you are dead and about to rez (handy in AB), use an enchantment spell multiple times prior to ressurecting, most often the Enchantment will be applied with no downtime.

Can be handy in some situations.

RE: Some cheeky tricks

I typically don't hit escape when weapon swapping, I click the ground and hit spacebar.

Also, another way to avoid bulls strike that our monks use alot in Team and Casual Love is to just use RoF on a random target when you see a warrior bullsing you. It's the same as hitting escape, but you can cast while you're there and avoid it. If you want to keep moving though (frozen isle), what Meg suggested is best.

Quarter Knocking:
With a warrior running a typical shock/axe build (Bulls Strike, Shock, Disrupting Chop). You can quarterknock someone. It's slightly harder than with a hammer bar because of the attack speed difference.

Start with a Bulls Strike, when you see him get to the point of almost being upright, time your shock to hit in the time he's up and the time a quarter second cast would be. You'll almost always get it. Then hit spacebar, you can get two attacks in and then key up disrupting chop to hit. But you'll only get a 3/4s cast skill that way. It's best to step away just like the equivalent of 3 feet and hit spacebar again then do one attack and key up disrupting chop.

RE: Some cheeky tricks

I know its not used in PvP, but I always find it handy in PvE (in the deep):
before you use rebirth, use glyph of lesser energy and swap to your lower energy set. You lose all ur energy but ur ready to bounce again if you switch back to ur high/normal energy set. Plus the advantage of the 2nd glyph spell ofcourse, who doesnt want free spell costs? ^^

I understand the whole low to high set....but glyphing? why? you would lose your energy anyways and if you're going to use low then high you'd have enough energy for glyph which would mean you could get the bonus of two spells! Maybe Ive got the wrong end of the stick but :S sounds wrong :P
