So.. those of you who watch it. Who do you think will win this year?
Canada vs Sweden
Russia vs Finland
IMO. Canada will win Sweden, and Russia will lose to Finland, but will see. Would me awesome if Sweden can take out Canada and be on the final with Finland. :)

Cool, well if it's banned from ED, then as a fellow Canadian, I'll step in. Canada all the way. I think the games will be closer than the last few, but with the Americans defeated, my money is on my Canadian boys!

The lose of USA was expected as they've always lost to Finland in semifinals or what you call them in english. :P
Canada has a really tought team, but it has to break the home teams curse as none team has won those in about 20 years. Last home team won WC back in the 80's in Moscow.
And beware Sweden! :D They can be meanies some times.

With the way Finland's been playing, it's a miracle they've gotten so far. I mean, the game against Latvia, wtf? Latvia hogged penalties all the time and Finland couldn't score goals. T.T
The game against U.S was pretty interesting to watch, but zomg those 2 goals that Americans scored in the end. GG defence, it's a great tactic to slide down all the way to the goal. ^_-
As for the Russia - Finland: Finland's gonna lose. Russian league's pretty tough and the players theyv'e picked are gewdies. Fins also have good players, but the teamwork isn't working all that well. I'm glad if we get to score atleast one goal during the game against Russia. Hopefully Finland won't get as confident as the last time and get sloppy at the last minutes.
Bäckström's been on fire though.
For Finland, I'd hope for bronze (gold/silver would always be awesome, but meh, one can dream. :P) But from the rest of the 3, I'd hope either Russia or Canada wins. Gets on my pride if Sweden wins. :/

I can't agree with the victory looking at the stats, but i hope Sweden will, since there is nothing better than the good old Swe VS Fin battle. :)

If you check the WC history al most every team that has won the WC has had a bad start. So if the prophecie is to be believed Finland is going to be on the gold medal this year. :P
And the Latvia game was indeed bad on Finlands side, but if you watched it you saw how impossible shots that goalie blocked, and most of it was pure luck.
BTW Russias one of the best player in their team isn't allowed to be play on the next match. ;)

Your side of looking at the finnish team is like any other normal watcher who doesn't really know much about the WC. You just see Finland's bad sides and that way expect it to lose.
EDIT: Oh, and Bäckström hasn't been on fire. ;) He can do a lot better. As for the Canada game we lost 6-3, was mostly Bäckströms falt who let in such an easy goals. That was also said on the Canadien magazine, so it's not just my own opinion to blame the goalie.

WC, Eurovisions, onetimers both. I may notice only the bad sides, but I'm trying to avoid all this super nationalistic "ZOMG WE WTF P0oo0o0n!"- thingy. I hope we'd win the WC like the next guy, but it's absurd.
And ye, I missed the Fin-Can game. Had to get up at 5 a.m. to work, so.... :/
Though, if Finland gets even bronze, I will come up with an apology thread.

Well, it's true since most of the hardcore team players like Teemu Selänne, Saku Koivu, Olli Jokinen, Ville Peltonen etc. are mostly only after gold medal. So if we will lose to russia the game morale would be so poor and will face Sweden there is a great possibility of we losing.

sweden will take canada, sweden got som really good players like Weinhandl, Murray, Linqvist and more, but it will be a tough match.
I really hope for a Sweden - Finland Final, Love Those:D:D:D
